Rewatching the game. Couple of things that were remarkable about that play.
-2nd and 26. Think of that, against a Georgia defense.
-The safety went the direction of the reciever and backed off because Tua was looking the other way. There is no question about it he did it at the start and went the other way, and that may have cost Georgia the national championship. The cornerback threw his arms in the air because he was expecting the safety who redoubled.
-The guy who caught the ball was also a freshman, like the qb. DeVonta Smith. Had a total of 8 catches all year, that's it. And they went to him with everything on the line.
Incredible call that will go down in history.

Agree. Watching the replay one of the camera angles gives a great look at Tua looking off the safety. Incredible for a freshman in the situation he was in. Hell, he was even making the typical mistake of not paying attention to the play clock, then he pulls a veteran move like looking off a safety. Sweet.

Was scripted for Alabama to win, period. He was given the signal and Georgia defender was to lay off the play. You didn't see any urgency or hustle on the play from the corner and safety.
Another classic fix.
