Truly shows just how brain dead the majority of folk are here.
I'd imagine it'd be a little difficult to script games. Fixes for gambling are very identifiable. I posted a video that proved that. I totally agree only17-20% of games are decided by the spread. But its not just point spreads you have to look at. Its the entire gambling picture. Lines are made and used to, you could predict the outcome regardless of a spread. Now with algorithms at work, take a look at sharp those lines are as a whole. Totals, teasers, ect. You mean to tell me a computer is that sharp to understand that bettign oe way or another using the numbers can guarantee a win? Humans play the game. Money is involved and there is corruption.Look at teams on paper. Why is it that it doesnt go according to that paper? If team A is elite and team B is sub par, then how is it team B covers a spread, a total, a teaser? How is it that team B comes back form behind on a last ditch effort to "almost" win the game? Team A just ran up the score and simply gave up? You mena to tell me in 7.5 minutes during half time, a coach gave a superhuman speech that gave confidence to his team to come out and come from behind to win or almost win the game? To cover the spread they shouldnt have covered? Many who dont believe in games having a fix want to to think that if it was fixed, it was fixed for a team to win or lose. Noone can guarantee a win except Joe Namath. But they CAN guarantee a loss. Lines are made and ppl gamble and if somoen inside the circle of the NFL decides to gamble, they can manipulte things to win their bets.
As for scripted. Well...if you look at certain instances such as 911 or Hurricane Katrina, it was a "feel good story" right? Last yr's Harbaugh vs Harbaugh. Rematch of ELI vs Brady. I guess the instance could feel that way. But imo, theres not enough there to make that prediction. If the Saints were to play Denver in this yrs SB, would it be scripted as a Brees vs Manning SB again? It's too hard to say. Sometimes I do feel feel there's instances where scripts are involved to make the game much more exciting. But to sit here and say before the season ever starts that team A will face team B in a SB is a little hard ot believe. I think perhaps it could be a story that progresses. But I know one thing: that its a billion dollar industry and its finding ways to make the most profit yr in and yr out...
