Everyone thinks the Eagles are back to a playoff caliber team now that they took out the Falcons. Despite me taking the Eagles last week, I said in week 16 Philly was in a very tough spot to end the year thanks to both their inexperience and their injuries. They were fortunate to face an overrated Falcons team off a bye, but that victory didn't impress me. They'll have a much tougher test getting past the 2nd best coach in the league, without their star QB. The Eagles didn’t need Nick Foles in last week’s game, but this is the game where Wentz will be missed in my opinion.
Philadelphia will find it extremely hard moving the ball on this Vikings defense. Drew Brees and the Saints went 6 years without being shutout @ halftime, until last weekend. Yes New Orleans moved the ball late and scored some points, but they also needed a huge 4th down and 10 conversion, a terrible interception thrown by Keenum into double coverage, and a blocked punt leading to a short field to aid in their comeback.
Additionally, the Saints had 0 points late in the 3rd quarter prior to the Vikings starting safety leaving the game with a concussion. 0 points through 43 minutes of game time. Do I need to repeat that? The Vikings held Brees and the Saints to 0 points through 43 minutes of game time. Zimmer had his defense as prepared as can be against one of the best offenses in the league. Once Sadejo got knocked out of the game, Minnesota could no longer blitz as they needed more help in coverage which changed their defensive schemes. His injury in addition to those mistakes above helped Brees tremendously in scoring 24 points late in the game but make no mistake about it, Minnesota’s defense was absolutely lights out. Yes that was a home game in their own stadium, and this will be a road game in weather conditions - but they are also going from facing the high powered Saints offense, to Nick Foles and a rungame that has produced 3.65 yards per carry over the past 4 games. The Eagles will not be able to move the ball consistently in this game and I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t score a single touchdown.
The Vikings meanwhile, have a tough test going against a solid Eagles defense outside of their home stadium as well, however, Minnesota's defense is still better - while I trust Zimmer + Keenum far more than Pederson + Foles.
Vikings -3 +100 ($4,000)

Glad we are on the same side! GL lets go, have Minni 8-1 for SB so im already doubled down.
As for the pats/jags game, that line drop is concerning. I was leaning jags with all that plus money, but now with the line dropping im confused about whether this is all just bs news just to get more jags bets in... really waiting for your breakdown before pulling the trigger on that game. GL to us sir

NO team ever played in it's own stadium in the superbowl
close vikings you got lucky vs saints because they lost to TB again
and no team ever won a superbowl who lost to TB hence why falcons lost it last year
I'm taking Eagles in a 50 -50 game as per consensus

Godell and the zebras make sure you win this bet...just to keep SKOL out of the SB at home.

Stop the Eagles offense? Three crappy defenses in Falcons, Raiders, and Cowgirls all stopped the Eagles offense. They have the worst QBR rated quarter back of any QB that attempted over 100 passes this year. He can't complete a pass over five yards and against the best man to man pass D in the league he won't complete many 5 yarders. Then they have a rushing attack averaging 3 yards per carry against the number one defense in football. The high flying Saints rushing attack with a first ballot HOF QB and two better RBs couldn't run so not sure how a team that will crowd the line against a guy that can't complete a 10 yard pass will move the ball at all.

In 2009 the Saints lost to TB and won the Superbowl. Not sure of other times but, figured start with NFC South teams and it took one check of 2009 to prove this sweet, irrelevant factoid wrong.

At least do some fact checking:

and no team ever won a superbowl who lost to TB hence why falcons lost it last year

BS news? Brian Hoyer took all 1rst game reps in practice yesterday. That's why the line has plummeted, nothing else

Let me add that on the Saints 2nd td, Xavier Rhodes wasn't on the field. He missed that entire drive while camping in the tent. Mid to late 4th quarter the Vikings went into prevent D, that was a mistake vs a guy like Brees.
Here's one I like that will make Foles life difficult. Pat Shurmur was his OC in Philly on the first go around. He's got the 411 on the guy, habbits and tendencies. There's no doubt in my mind that he's in Zimmers ear all week. If anyone knows the weakness's of RPO's, it's Shurmur.
Good Luck

Didn't notice that, so pro bowl vikings safety was out for 1 TD drive, and pro bowl safety and pro bowl cornerback were out for another TD drive. I've said all week that game could have very easily been a blowout for a very few minor changes here and there.
Zimmer and Belichick are on a collision course to meet in the bowl, and it could be one of the best of the decades with the two top coaches in the league going head to head.

Think it would be a lot like Patriots/Seahawks classic. Brady going against a secondary hat doesn't give cheap first downs away. Brees is probably the only other guy that can just straight up gun sling and he had to work really hard to score points. Think Pats/Vikings would look a lot like VIkings/NO.

Agree with the pick and the reasoning, just one question. How does the Vikes' decision to play prevent defense late in the game against NO square with your touting of Zimmer as being one of the NFL's best coaches?

Agree with you LC....other than being at home , nothing favors Philly. Minnesota has by far the better coach (44-17 ats) , better QB, and better defense. I see a 23 to 7 type of game

When you don't believe in fixes or manipulation---despite having ALREADY seen hundreds of games swing according to point spreads by the hand of the refs---you bite on these -3 lines cuz they're so short. Remember when NE was -3 vs Peyton (whose neck was about to fall off any second that year) ???
If MIN wins, it will be by 1-2 pts at most. That being said, I am on PHI ML. You can keep the 3 points. You have the Number 1 defense, but I will betcha WE'LL have the flock of zebras on our side.

Why on earth would the refs favor Philly? You don't think Minnesota is a better story, particularly since the Miracle?

Minnesota Vikings @ Philadelphia EaglesEveryone thinks the Eagles are back to a playoff caliber team now that they took out the Falcons. The Eagles didn’t need Nick Foles in last week’s game, but this is the game where Wentz will be missed in my opinion.Philadelphia will find it extremely hard moving the ball on this Vikings defense. Drew Brees and the Saints went 6 years without being shutout @ halftime, until last weekend. Yes New Orleans moved the ball late and scored some points, but they also needed a huge 4th down and 10 conversion, a terrible interception thrown by Keenum into double coverage, and a blocked punt leading to a short field to aid in their comeback.Additionally, the Saints had 0 points late in the 3rd quarter prior to the Vikings starting safety leaving the game with a concussion.
