Monday Night Winner. 5-0 yesterday

Hi guys, had a very nice day yesterday going 5-0 picking up 6.5 units.  That brings me up to +6 units on the week so another winning week.  If you followed congrats.  If not, hope you had a profitable week.

Tonight - I see this being a very tough game to cap and if there were others on the board I wouldn't touch it.  But since I have my crown and cigar I'll need something to watchNew Engaland coming off a bye and Brady's record on Monday night are tough to go against.  However, NO ONE is playing better and with more confidence than Carolina right now so I am not betting against them at home.  Prior to the San Fran game Carolina had score 30+ in 3 straight games and NE defense is depleted.  Plus give Brady two weeks to prepare for Carolina defense, which is coming off a physical battle with SF and NE will score tonight as well.  I can get 45.5 at Ceasars right now so I am playing the over.

Crafty I do think this is going to be a close game and I just like 45 (24-21) better than 45.5 and I feel the extra juice is worth it on a $1,000 bet.

Extra juice is never worth it no matter what the bet size is. You will learn that eventually. Capping sides is less important then reduced juice,by paying extra juice you have ZERO chance of winning in the long run. ZERO. Not criticizing,just trying to help. Only way to survive and win in the long run is straight bets,no parlays and never buying points no matter the line or bet size.

Just think about it,you are paying $100 just so you don't lose if it falls on one specific number,do you not see how silly that is? So if it lands on any other number win or lose you cost yourself $100 or $90 depending on whether you win or lose your bet. Since you are risking $1200 to win $1000 when you should be risking $1100 to win $1000 or the $1200 you are now risking to win$1090. Hope you understand what I am saying.

Meant  or the $1200 you are now risking to win$1000 when it should be $1200 to win $1090.

Please don't take this the wrong way Chaloots.  Been doing this a long time and winning a long time.  I respectfully disagree.  But look everyone is entitled to their opinion.  I just really get a kick out of all the people on this board that think they are experts at gambling. What's right and what's wrong.  It's about picking winners and that 1/2 has saved me several times so please don't tell me how to wager after 45 years of gambling.

Again no disrespect Chaloots but everyone does it different an my way has worked for a lot of years. thx

Pasta have a few of them.  Local, Bovada, sportsbook are the main ones I use, however, I'm pretty well connected in Vegas so I will have some people wager for me in Vegas at times.

I have NEVER had a problem connecting but I have heard horror stories so be careful and do your due diligence.

That's why you're a prospect.  Don't give ABSOLUTE advice like you are smarter than anyone on here.  Trust me, you're not

As a matter of fact, if you look at oldwiseone's logic (and mine in many instances), it makes perfect sense.  Just think about this...

Point #1:
Who knows MORE than the oddsmakers??  Noone, not even G-d.  If you don't agree with this, don't continue reading.  If you do, point #2...

Point #2: 
These oddsmakers, or let's just call them what they are which are oracles, set the number at what THEY think about the game and how THEY think it will result.

Point #3:
If Point #2 is true, and assuming spreads are even #'s (+3, +4, etc), then it can be said that a game is capped to "push" (hence the handicap system's DEFINITION which is to handicap teams to be EVEN).

Point #4:
Buying points around a bet that WOULD have pushed, AUTOMATICALLY means you won (If you don't understand that math, comment on this post and I'll explain in 5th Grade detail).

Point #5:
Is the extra 10-30% vig betting as an oddsmaker worth it?  Said a different way, would you rather bet +100 on YOUR knowledge of the sides, OR, bet -110 to -130 odds using THEIR knowledge and win if the game pushes, REGARDLESS the side you choose.


This is not saying I know it all, but I'm SURE as hell saying you, Chaloots, have no clue where your neck ends and your butt cheeks start.


Personally, I bought .5 points and am taking Pats +3.5 at -135 for 5 units.

Also sprinkling Panthers winning by 1-6 at +350 for 1/2 unit

Key for me is Cam during the press conference...

"We need this more than ANYTHING."

I've learned the quickest way to lose something is to want it too badly.  Panthers D will be why they win by 3, not Cam for all you Cam Lovers

You are 1 dumb fucck. I have been in the business for over 20 years on both ends of the phone and when people buy points or bet parlays bookies laugh. Get a clue you dumb fucck and then talk to me. GL buying a half point on Pats at -135,if they win outright or cover on any number besides 3 think of how much profit you cost yourself by risking ...example 1350 to win 1000 instead of risking 1350 to win 1200 or if they don't cover you risked 1350 to win 1000 instead of 1100 to win 1000. you are betting 250 dollars that the game lands on 3. Who is the dummy? Jesus Christ you newbies don't have a fuccking clue the importance of juice. Maybe there is a seasoned gambler here that will read this and agree or maybe some newbie that wants to win long term will understand.

Chaloots, I understand your point but I respectfully disagree that you should NEVER buy a half.  There were a couple games yesterday that if you bought a half on 3 you ended up being a winner.  So again, you can get anyone one you want to come in my thread and its not going to change the way I bet.  I know experts and very good gamblers that will buy halves so where you get your information is simply an opinion.
