I will argue that this line movement up to 9 is awesome for a Vikings backer tonight....it moves the line up, but to where?  Crossing the -8, 8.5, and 9, and even -9.5 does not do anything....all it does it gets people thinking the Bears is the play tonight, and get's them the better number (when in all reality, you are not getting any value from that line moving 2 points) 

Think again....the Vikings cover this one.

You just referenced a couple of SU & ATS home losses as evidence that the Bears have "hung in there....against solid competition."  That doesn't make for a compelling case.  ATG, normally I'm right there with you on the ugly mutts, but not this one.  The Bears are a pile of manure, and I'm insulting manure.  Their home record is 4-3, but it might be the most unimpressive winning home record in NFL history.  They beat Pittsburgh by a field goal way back when we still thought the Steelers were great.  They went on to record home wins over the Lions, Browns, and Rams, the Three Stooges of the 2009 NFL season. 

By my count, the Bears are 1-8 ATS this season against what I consider their "solid competition" (Pittsburgh, Green Bay twice, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Arizona, Philadelphia, Minnesota, and Baltimore). 

And it's all true.  None of it is exaggerated.

He's had a phenomenal season, but even he's had to listen to the doubters recently following poor performances in Minny's last two road games.  The public isn't nearly as hyped up on Brett as they were prior to the Sunday night game in Arizona.

With the Bears a pathetic 0-7 ATS in their last seven games......what other rational choice does the public have?  What evidence is there that suddenly the Bears will try hard and play well?

By the way, the betting isn't as lopsided as you're making it out to be.  While the Bears are a band of disillusioned quitters, the Vikings have looked terrible in their last two games in prime time.  Everyone is well aware of this.

I dunno, man.  The Bears are what I like to call "towel-tossing bitches."

I know the entire world are not drinking Cutler's Kool-aid but the guy can put together 1 or 2 solid game before the yr.

He is due for a good game and tonight is it.

Bears + OVER is $$$$$$$.

That's a lot more faith than Jay Cutler deserves.

As always, thanks for your posted comments and insight. On paper, you are correct there is no rationale reason to take Bears...but I have to factor in intangibles. The national audience, cold weather, Farve/Childress controversy, Bears playing with a nothing to lose (other than my money, lol) attitude, revenge factor from ass kicking in Minnesota, close game they played versus Philly on same field in a nationally televised sunday night game a few weeks ago, fact that public had an easy win with Dallas last night that was never in doubt. Maybe just maybe there is a shred of pride and professionalism in this team that will get triggered tonight after they have received a beatdown on the field and in the press all year long.

Was there any rationale reason to take Tampa Bay on road yesterday as 14 point dogs against an angry Saints team coming off a loss? No, not really.

As for Cutler....he has NO offensive line or talent around him whatsoever...he is pressing to make up for that thus all those ints. He will be just fine in the future if this team gets him some weapons. He must feel like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

While I didnt see you state anywhere that you are on the Vikings, I'd be surprised to see a capper of your caliber on this type of favorite. I can totally understand not wanting to bet the Bears, but I would think you are the type that would pass on this game then.
