i'm thinking over, since her sound check is pretty much right at the set line of 1:42. she must stretch the last note just a tad bit longer to soak it all in.... OVER it is!

actually... i just timed it myself... and i had it at 1:41.7. now i'm not too sure anymore...

Lost $50 on the under. Just a horrible, horrible loss. In the beginning, she was firing on all cylinders and blazing through the fucking song; she was well, well on pace for the under until the very end when, for whatever reason, she decided to stretch everything out. I clocked it at 1:44, a mere two seconds over.

It sucks because this is the type of bet where the "average" person who doesn't gamble would take the over without second thought. Yet, the veterans such as myself who researched this extensively don't even get rewarded in the end. Ugh

The OVER was fixed.  I'm sure a family member told her to stretch the song longer; I know I would if I was betting.

 given that she ripped through the beginning of the song...a certain under...then from then from "O say does that...." beginning with O in the last verse, she stretches it for :43 seconds...:43 seconds for JUST THE LAST VERSE!

Here's the bottom line about National Anthems...When these blowhard, egomaniacal singers get out on that stage, they are in all their glory...and want to savor every minute...hence all notes that can be stretched to their maximum length, even to the point of lunacy, they will do so...there is no time frame to put on the words FREE and BRAVE...so when they go through their warm-ups, if those words aren't stretched out, take the OVER....

Also, nice to see Carrie Underwood decided to raid Elvis' Graceland Mansion closet's to get one of his jump suits for her performance...really works well 4 DECADES LATER with a pair of white stilettos
