Have generally agreed with your plays in years past, but we differ here.

Be careful with the Carolina has nothing to lose angle. This has worked well with some big dogs in the past in the playoffs (NO/SEA and PIT/DEN). It worked well because the dogs were huge dogs and really had no chance and the favs were frauds. I remember hammering Denver in that game because Pittsburgh was a total flake. Not the case here at all. SF is a very strong team and aren't waiting to be beat like those other teams were.

You also had angles where the superior teams often overlooked these teams with "nothing to lose" because there was such a gap. That gap does not exist here. This line is virtually a pk and most importantly SF lost to CAR on their own field. No way they overlook the Panthers.

Also, there is not one position where Carolina is better than SF. Not one. You could argue the D-line, but with Aldon Smith back and wreaking havoc it's a push at best. SF is better everywhere else across the board. More efficient running, stopping the run, passing, and stopping the pass. They've also got the experience and won't give a garbage if this game is on the road.

I wouldn't trust Ron Rivera here either. This guy was a baffoon before 12 weeks ago and cost CAR games left and right. Now the pressure is really on here and who's to say he won't revert to his old self and darn it up? He's never been in the playoffs. Harbaugh is leagues better at this point.

Don't know how SF can be running on fumes either. They are finally healthy and have won 7 in a row. They are just peaking and finding a groove. CAR has all the makings of a team running on fumes. They have not been good since their win streak was snapped and look like the classic team that hit their stride too early. They barely beat a disgraceful ATL team, were stomped in NO, unimpressive against the Jets, and pulled the other NO game out of their behind in a game they were dominated.

GL, but I just don't see the reasons to play CAR. SF is the better team and they aren't a flake so the "nothing to lose" angle gets thrown out. So does HFA IMO when you have an experienced team like SF.


Also think SD gets blown off the planet. Week 15 was the week to play them in DEN and last week was the week in the playoffs. think people are a day late and dollar short. GL.

i just cant see carolina winning this one. both defenses are great here but i give san fran the edge just cuz they have a better secondary...but with the return of michael crabtree...their offense gets back another huge weapon to account for....all the right players are getting healthy at the right time

plus steve smith isnt 100% and i highly doubt carolina will keep up in this game....

SF is better than the Panthers in a lot of areas yes but again I really like CAR here more due to the spot there in. The Packers and Cardinals are the only quality teams the 49ers beat on the road and both were by 3 points in games that could have gone either way. I love the way CAR has played at home this year and I feel there being highly disrespected. I know Rivera and Newton are making there first playoff starts but again, there underdogs who will be playing more loosely. I guess we'll see what happens.

Even though I like SD to win SU, there is a very LARGE possibility Denver blows them out.

There is a big difference between the Broncos of this year and last year, mainly that Ravens game.  This team has that loss from last year stored in their heads and use it as motivation (along with the Thursday night loss to the Chargers).  Denver wins this game 38-17. SD is nothing special and it will show this week.  Make sure before you rip up your Denver futures ticket like this clown suggests that you toss it my way, I'll take it.

I like Carolina and hope Cam's first experience in playoffs is a good one.  Ron Rivera too.   Edge 49ers, damn!  Defense both good, offenses both good though 49ers seem to have more weapons. HF edge to Carolina though SF already beat GB at GB so it may mean nothing.  Just ask CN.  If Cam has a big game, keep Kaepernick the Pack killer from a big game, just may be they move on.  If Panthers win, I consider it a small miracle as they are hot team now.  Hot teams like GB, NYG and Balt. All won the last 3 SBs.  Everyone has correct points to their positions on this game, I just hope HF motivation will help.  Cam is bigger name from SEC, CK from Mt. West/WAC I think.  Both are skillful, both young in experience.  Cam has won a BCS, if he wins a SB, impressive resume.  Someone is gonna have to wait at least another year.  I am on Carolina small, with you LCD.

Denver, to a man, said they were "flat" against SD in their second meeting. I think you would agree that most teams hit bumps (games) along the way during the year where they are, as a team, flat. That's really evident when teams travel from west coast to east but it can happen in any given game or situation. Both Denver and San Diego should be sky high for this one and I believe it will be Denver's ploy to run a no huddle offense at the SD defense. We know, for the most part, Denver was a second half team this year (New England game was certainly an exception) wearing opponents down for the second half when they usually pull away from their competition because the rarified air can do a number on the visitor. If Manning moves the ball like he should be able to, I don't like San Diego's chances in this one............even to cover the spread. Another thing that is telling is the line which opened at many books with Denver at -10. San Diego looked impressive beating the hapless Bengals when we last saw them play and now to be a 10 point dog? The odds makers in Vegas have certainly errored in setting this line. Certainly not! Not so fast my friends. Denver is a ball control team and if they do that, with limited turnovers, they will win this going away and cover the spread easily. You can call Manning a choke artist in the playoffs if you wish but I think his PhD in football science is at least 10 points better than the football 101 class that Phillip Rivers has to his credit. Just sayin.....they used to call John Elway a playoff/superbowl choke artist for those of you old enough to remember his career as a Denver Bronco. He proved a few people wrong as it turned out. BOL with your wagers everyone!

Denver's lowest 2 games in terms of plays per game were both to SD this year, and it's no surprise, Mike McCoy was a coach for the Broncos last year, he knows that team inside and out

Considering Peyton's two lowest point totals, two lowest yardage total, and two lowest amount of plays per game this year were both against SD. I would say he's done a fine job.

I don't dispute the job McCoy is doing. Is McCoy on the field playing in the game? He can only be a coach. Manning has an innate ability to outthink even coaches at times.
