Id have to say Brees...

Favre  and Payton in a very very close second...

Brees has the weapons but I dont feel like they would be the weapons the are without him. Payton has always had some pretty good recivers, and Farve has Peterson so the defense needs to always keep a very close eye on him giving Favre a chance to dominate in the air like he has...

Brees showed alot tonight... tons of respect to him from a huge pats fan

If Chris Johnson runs for 2000 yards he should win.

OJ, Barry, and TD all won MVP during their 2000 yard seasons.

Dickerson should of won in 84, if it wasnt for Marino having maybe the greatest season ever for a QB.

Jamal Lewis didn't win because nobody really gives a shit about the Ravens.

If Johnson doesn't run for 2000 then i would give it to Favre.  Farve is having a better season than any of his past 3 MVP years.

And the Colts are not 11-0?

Brees is IN THE RUNNING but isn't even the front runner, let alone a lock.

I didn't before last night's game because in the three or four games prior I believe he only had 7 TD's vs. 6 INT's.  Yeah the Saints are 11-0 and Brees is having an amazing season, and that's why he's back in the argument. 

Poor Chris Johnson.  Best numbers out there right now probably, might break the all-time record.  Still won't have a shot at MVP

Would love to see a split...Brees and Manning both deserve it, with Favre right there as well.

The success of the Titans with VY getting the nod as the starter will take some of the spotlight from CJ, no matter if that is fair or not, it will.

The Colts would not be close to 11-0 without Manning - the argument that we don't know what this Colts team would be with Sorgi is absurd.  Manning is a top 3 quarterback year in and year out, and possibly all time -   Sorgi has had chances, and he is no Matt Cassell type - in fact, I would argue that Curtis Painter is a better backup then Sorgi - so stop that argument right here.

Brees has a lot more weapons - but the way he distributes the ball is amazing - there is not one option you can focus on to shut this team down ... and it all starts with him. 

As for Favre, he has taken the Vikes over the top - they were a solid team without him, but are one play away from being undefeated with him...so he has to be given his fair due - the dude can just play the game - as much as I hate him and his offseason antics -

The way the game is played today, it is a QB award...so much runs through that position...just the way it is - and Manning, Brees, and Favre are at the top of their game this year...

Thinking of it - here is to hoping they can just make it a 3 way tie this year!!!

Would love to see a Saints/Vikes NFC Championship game...would be a lot of fun if you ask me!

I would have picked Manning but after last night Brees vaulted to the top. You can't go wrong either way with those two.

1st. PEYTON MANNING. Let analyze Peyton supporting cast: RB's Donald Brown, Josep Addai -- WR Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon -- TE Dallas Clark ... Maybe two great players (Wayne and Clark) and the rest are average ... To me he has done the most with the least talented team ...

2nd. BRETT FAVRE. RB's A. Peterson, C. Taylor --- WR Sidney Rice, Bernard Berrian, Percy Harvin -- TE A. Shencoe (something like that) ... Great supporting cast but Favre is in 1st year in Viking uniform and what he has accomplished is awesome, even if he knows the system ...

3rd. DREW BREES . RB's P. Thomas, C. Bell, R. Bush --- WR Marques Colston, D. Henderson, R. Meachem --- TE J. Shockey ... A underated running game and WR's, Brees has dominated Coach Peyton offense  and it shows, but I think Brees suporting cast is better that the one Manning has and very close to Favre's ...

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: CHRIS JOHNSON,  what this guy has accomplished is of historic proportions, and he keep playing at the same rate, i think he should win NFL Ofensive POY...

COULD NOT agree more. Completely forgot about offensive player of the year. THAT is Chris Johnson's award, not the mvp.

Ok...I'll take that argument I guess. I as well forgot about OPY...I think it was probably created for this exact situation.

Brees IMO is below Manning and Favre because I believe he is more a "product of the system" type of quarterback.  Sean Payton is an amazing offensive coach, and the plays they were calling for Brees last night ALLOWS him to spread the field like he does and put up those kinds of numbers.

Manning/Favre are left over, and it's hard to really say which one is "better".  Favre IMO is the MOST valuable player because we know what the Vikings were without him.  Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin would be absolute no-names with Tarvaris Jackson throwing to them. 

With Manning, he just makes everyone on the field better, and he always has, but it's not because of his physical ability, it's because of his mental ability.  He doesn't have the strongest arm, he's not even close to the fastest quarterback, but he can read and pick apart defenses better than anyone in the history of the game.

Either way you go...it's a damn tough choice and probably the toughest choice in a LONG time.  I can remember there being two or occasionally three contenders, but never four legitimate MVP candidates.
