As a Bears Homer I hate to say I am not feeling ur pick......
Bears fan too and typically agree with you, but I have to disagree.
Lovie had the worst offensive run out of any coach I've seen in a while that has won games. Trestman is an instant upgrade over him and the offense will do better than we've seen in the past 5+ years. Trestman has coached in the NFL, he understands it, the CFL hate it just too much.
The defense is still a cover 2, just being called by a DC that did VERY well in Jacksonville with way less talent. The defense is practically unchanged from year to year, only Urlacher is replaced and Roach. Urlacher could barely move out there so any of the 4 LBs can fill in well in regards to performance - leadership is a different story clearly but Briggs/Tillman can step up. The DL is stronger, the DBs are stronger, and the LB is quicker and younger.
Instead of focusing on what the Bears can't do - how about Cincy? Dalton can't throw deep, he has 1 target in Green who I agree is similar to Marshall except he makes his money going deep and big plays. Gresham/Eifert as dual TE could be a difficult matchup but time will tell there. Can you name CIN WR2? Most can't. At RB I do think Bernard will be real damn good so hopefully Lewis sticks with the Law Firm a bit more in game 1.
In my opinion the Bears offense > Cin. The Bears OL is at least 5x better from last year with a legit LT in Bushrod, strong guard play from Long and Slauson, Garza has always been stout, and Mills at RT is the big question mark.
I think the game is capped well and with 85% of money on CIN, CHI ended up being my big play today as well.
Hope I'm right!
