New York Giants @ Denver Broncos
The Giants have been very competitive this year despite being 0-5. They’ve lost their last 3 games by 5 points, 2 points, and 3 points. Yes they are missing most their offense, but that is being overstated to a degree.
The receivers that will be playing in this game for NY have been on the practice squad for 2-3 years. They know the offense and the routes. Timing won’t be perfect, but it’s not like they don’t know the system. Plus, the Giants defense is still playing at a high level - they’ve limited their last 3opponents to 15 points per game average through 3 quarters, despite facing 3 offenses that rank in the top #10. The Broncos offense isn’t great, even with 2 weeks to prepare they will have a hard time scoring TDs here. Broncos score TDs only 50% of the time in the red zone. That is #21rst in the league. Not a good stat to have when you are laying 13.5 points. I like backing teams on primetime off consecutive primetime losses as well - as NY is 0-2 SU and 0-2 ATS on primetime so far this year.
Also, playing veteran teams when their backs are against the walls is a solid play. The talk in NY all week has been that it’s time to move on from Eli Manning. I expect him to play above expectations and the 2nd string receivers to rally and play for him.
