NePats12, good stuff on New England. I didn't get to see them much this offseason and I just assumed Andre Carter and Haynesworth were not gonna contribute much. Those guys at a high level really change the dynamics of the NE defense though.
As a Pats fan, what did you think about that Lions game a couple weeks ago? Is that something where you treat it as "just an exhibition" or did the Lions really whoop on them in a way that worried the fans/team? I read a play by play and it seems like penalties and couple big plays by the Lions killed the Pats more than anything else.
Glyde, the Pats had a very vanilla gameplan on defense that game compared to their first 2 games. Their O-Line didn't block very well but with the addition of Waters hopefully that shores up their weakest link.
All in all, they didn't execute well and didn't come out with any urgency compared to the Lions who treated it as a regular season game. The Lions are also a team on the rise also, it's not like they lost to a bad team.
I was actually pretty happy they got an eye opener like that before the regular season started, it looks like Belichick addressed the weak links as a few D players from last season were cut shortly after.
This Pats team will need some time to gel with all the new faces, but when they do watch out...I believe this team could be as good as the team in 07, but we'll see.

Great thread. One of the best in the forum for just pure discussion and information. Good luck with all your plays. Really like the SD pick. Took them myself, but only the first half line (-5.5) and over 21.

Not the greatest start to the season. Fucking Steelers embarrassing themselves. Good call, Andy. Easy to say it in retrospect, but the Ravens really came to play.
