Alright Ladies, im betting on the Niners, anything under -3, hopefully -2 or less.
Niners are hungry, they know they gonna win the division. I say they come out and make a statement to open the season (just as the Seahawks wanna come out and make a statement in the home opener as well. Im just saying that the Niners have been building the last few years and they know that this their year to make that jump to a legit playoff team. They have more continuity, commitment to each other, vision, and drive than the rebuilding Hawks, imo, and I think that does count for something).
49ers are a top ten defense, I just dont think the seahawks have the firepower, the o-line play, the playmakers, AND the defense to matchup and win this game. What they DO have is homefield advantage - one of the better ones in the league...what concernes me are the 2 rookies on the o-line for the niners - davis and iupati, in a loud, hostile environment. Alex Smith, as many of you know, has the same offense for the 2nd year in a row for the first time, and it has shown in the practices, workouts, and preseason. Last year they didnt have all the blitz pickups and audibles and adjustments down, weren't on the same page, and it showed in all the hurried passes, sacks, throw aways, bad plays, and checkdowns. The offense got Crabtree for a whole year, Davis is uncoverable, and the reports on Ginn have been impressive. Remember that Gore has gone bananas against the Seahawks over the last few years - i think he had a million yards and 500 td's against them last year.
Anything -3 or under. If they win by 1 or 2 then fck it, ish happens. NFL betting 101 - pick the winner, and more often than not they cover the spread. If you think the rebuilding Seahawks with far lesser talent and continuity can win with their only advantage being homefield, then play them. Im picking the team with more talent, continuity, physicality, defense, that has been building for years to get to this point in space/time.

Heres what I see, I see the Niners blitzing blitzing and blitzing, some will work and hassleback will fumble, leading to defensive scores, some will be picked up and Hassleback will burn the niners, especially if the seahawks play action pass is working.
Niners should have no problem getting thru the o-line, Niners on Offense will also running running running then bam play action pass.
The niners look like a solid play but I think the over is the best bet for that entire sunday, Im calling it now.
THe Niners/Seahawks game will be the highest scoring game of the NFL weekend.

im sure pete carroll will have some wrinkles in his first nfl game back...which may or may not lead to some big plays...seattles offense looks terrible tho...mike williams your #1 reciever? who's playing on the o-line?

hawks have the better coach and qb and are at home...would not be suprised if niners come out of the gates 0-4....defense has looked horrible in the preseason....colts and raiders shredded the niners d and look for hawks to get it done...in tight game i would take the superior qb

How much did Patrick Willis play in the pre season? Didn't the 49'ers beat the colts? Please post your plays for week one so I can fade you and win. lmao

Are you serious? Raiders scored on their opening drive against the niners and was held without a first down for the rest of the half. Patrick Willis was a beast in that game and Campbell was harrassed all day eventually gettin knocked the hell out. The Colts are the Colts, an offensive juggernaut, so I can understand not looking good against them. Niners will be a top five defense this year. Hawks may have the better QB but that wouldn't matter if he gets knocked out like he did last year against the Niners. Niners have a better team, a better offense and defense, and a better o-line. I'll take the Niners.

I agree 100%, could the Seahawks win this game? Sure, I'll say they win in this spot 20% of the time. Give me my money at a little bit lower than -110 every time for when I think its an 80% chance of return

I think the Seahawks have very good linebackers......and thats about it. I think Hasselbeck might me okay if he checks down quick and gets rid of the ball. But the Niners will be able to hold the 'Hawks to 20 or less. And I can see the Niners scoring at least 24 here.
49ers- 31 Seahawks- 16
SF -3

raiders only had 200 yards of offense in the 1st half with starters on starters lol Smith has not put up more than one td in all 4 starts. In two of those starts he played the whole 1st half. But oh he didnt have all his players lol All the hype is with the niners but no way do they go anywhere with smith at qb thats for sure. Niners wont finish any better than 8-8. like I said if they start out 0-4 would not be suprised at seattle orleans at atlanta at kc

This may be the ugliest game of the weekend..............seattle's OL is dismal........Okung is out & I can't even remember who they plan to put @ LT in his place. Carroll is cleaning house & they're bound to struggle for the year. They cut a bunch of vets but kept one guy they should've chopped.......... Julius Jones.
Good LB's but the rest is really gooey......

Coming from a big Niners fan...some reasons they lose Sunday.
-Alex Smith on the road -Niners start 2 rookie olinemen in one of the loudest stadiums in the country. -Niners without starting center, another tough loss in a loud environment -Seattle has the Niners old GM as well as several players from last years team, not sure I trust Singletary/Raye to change things up enough given this situation -Alex Smith on the road.

I am still not sold on Alex Smith.I go to a few hawks games a year and the place will be bananas for opener. Having said that the D will have to generate turnovers to have a chance(Trufant). No play on this one. good luck

Just check out the 49ers last 24 games on the road. They have 4 wins and 20 losses. Could they be better this year? Sure. Is everyone picking them as a "sleeper" team? Yes. But a smart bettor would make them prove it first rather than "hope" it happens. Im not saying bet Seattle by any means. But if you bet this game, your forcing it. Its a coin flip. Much better options on the board.

bay bridge agree totally have been a niner fan all my life and i know a lot of niner fans and not one of them wants smith as the qb....singletary is way overrated in my book...he treats the players with no respect and ridicules them all the time....singletary will never make a good head coach....they went 2-6 vs team with winning records last year and both of those wins were vs arizona...if they played in any other division they wouldnt be in the top 2 of any of those divisions
niners will lose these 4 games for sure saints atlanta gbay sd they will go 4-2 in the conf at best that is 4-6
that leave kc eagles oakland carolina denver tampa that means they will have to win 5 out of these 6 to finish abover.500 u see them winning at most 4 of those games which leaves them at 8-8 at best
I could totally be wrong but this is what i see for he niners

Gore, Davis, and Crabtree played very little this preseason
Singletary is not overrated. He's the guy that led the 9ers to their first non-losing season in years. If he's so bad, why is everyone picking the 9ers to win the division? Check the odds in Vegas.
I just don't get all the crap about Smith. 60%, 18 tds, 12 picks. On a team that runs the ball. Ask Vernon Davis if Smith sucks.

can seattle stop 49ers run game? SF if they run will do so all day, if Seattle can stop the run than there is going to be points scored over covers don't need to worry about a side.
