Gore going bananas against SEA in previous years? Don't get tikitom and rockdog started now.
Aside from that, I like this SF play. Even better is taking the UNDER play here. Defenses are at an advantage early in the season. Add to it, the loud noises and the two rookie offensive linemen on SF and I think it'll stay UNDER. I really like the SF defense stopping SEA cold in this game. Injury prone MH is just one big hit from being replaced too like last season's game at SF.

Alex Smith has the same offense for the 2nd yr in a row, and he's healthy. As stated by he and the team, "last year they lost so many plays, especially on 3rd down, because they didnt have continuity in offensive identity and playcalling, on the line and at receiver and couldnt get all the blitz pickups and audibles down - which led to many checkdowns, throw aways, sacks, and bad passes."
Reports out of camp also state that alex smith has a great grasp of the offense b/c for the first time they have the same offense from last year. He's been a leader at practice running the offense and has control of the huddle. As Urban Meyer has said, when alex gets it, he really gets it.
And as for the road woes of the niners, a lot of those games came a few years back when they had really shitty teams. theyre good now. throw that out. last year they came within one fluke play of beating the vikings on the road, and a few plays of beating the colts on the road, who they played really tough, also almost beat the packers and texans. 4 extremely close losses to 3 of the best teams in the entire league, and a decent team in the texans.

almost only counts in hand grenades and horse shoes buddy. most games in the nfl are close ones. throw that excuse out of your head. a loss is a loss is a loss, and backing the 49ers on the road in week one isnt a smart idea, remember...... the line is only -3 for a reason. the game could go either way

Hawk the niners are favored to win the division your right but I think if you took the niners out of that division and you could put 80 percent of the nfl teams in there and they would be favored to win the division......they went 5-1 in by far the weakest division in the nfl and 3-7 vs the rest of the league....name one other division that the niners could have went 5-1 in? The bottom two teams in the league were 6-26....the teams they got there 8 wins off of were a combined 32-64......but for people to be going crazy over the niners I cant until they can prove they can beat winning teams...like i said i would be shocked if they finish better than 8-8

Okay, I'm not gonna go over Frank Gore and Patrick Willis, but I will name 3 guys that are key on offesnse/defense
Crabtree-Didn't sign until October last season and still led NFL rookies in rec. yds per game (56.8). Now he knows what he's doing and is primed for a breakout. Again, guess who was at qb while he got these numbers
V.Davis-Became the first tight end of the Super Bowl era to lead the NFL (or tie for the lead) in TD catches; Crabtrees's presence will keep defenses from keying on Davis. Again, Alex Smith is horrible at quarterback.
Mike Iupati-Along with fellow rookie Anthony Davis, will need to refine his technique at the more demanding right tackle position; his run blocking skills are NFL ready
Defense-Dashon Goldson-free safety: Who? Matured into a pretty good starter-steady-one of four NFL players with at least 3 picks, 3 forced fumbles, and a sack
Aubrayo Franklin-missed all of training camp, but this 317 lb wrecking ball at nose tackle is key for the 9ers
Justin Smith-DE-has 139 consecutive starts. No other defensive lineman is even close.
3.6-ypc vs. 49ers last season-tied for second in the NFL
.818-49ers' home winning pct since Singletary took over
135k-air miles the 9ers will travel this season, tops in the NFL by 10,000 miles.
And one last stat-Starting in Week 9, Vernon Davis had six catches of at least 25 yards-the most by a tight end and as many as Cowby deep threat Miles Austin......................again, from that crappy qb, Alex Smith

dude alex smith is the qb. thats enough for me to not take the niners no matter how good the rest of the team is. niners -3 is the true meaning of a gamble imo- just not worth it

hey coach e, playing 3 of the very best teams in the nfl on the road tough does count for something. theres a huge difference between losing by a few plays and getting spanked, wouldnt you say.
im tellin yall right now, this is not the same alex smith we saw early in his career. most people hear the name and think 'shitty'. well see when he makes the pro bowl this year

I don't see how this game will be the highest scoring game of the week. If anything, I like the under. The 49ers offense shouldn't do that well with the loud crowd and new OL. The Seahawks have a lot of inexperience, and against a solid D, shouldn't be able to get a lot of scoring drives going.
Sounds like an under to me. Counting on lots of defensive scores seems like a day of sweating.
