Rams technically won straight up as a 1-2 point dog but I'd almost consider that a pick em, which it was for a good part of the week, as you don't really expect the line to come into play when you pick a 1 1/2 point dog.
I don't believe this has happened before or at least in the last 40 years that I've been wagering on the NFL.

Anyone know if that has ever happened? Personally, it was a rough day. I hope this isn't a trend - but actually concerned it is. The NFL parity of even a few years ago seems to be gone. I doubt anyone lost a survivor pool entry this week.... Anywhere.
yes, unfortunately it wasn’t like last week where 30-40% of the field lost on one game. I did hear that there were 2 losses in the Circa Survivor. That was 2 entries lost out of how ever many thousand

Out of 12,000 entries in my survivor pool almost 6,000 lost last week. This week nobody lost!
Lack of fans and continuity for the better teams might be the answer. I said somewhere in another thread several months ago that it’s almost as if Covid froze everything (i.e., the normal operations that a team would go through to prepare for a new season; so bad teams couldn’t really improve by implementing new schemes/personnel etc. and new coaches and players could not properly prepare) and so you almost have what is, to my mind, an extension of the previous season. Teams like the Rams improved simply by shedding dead weight and getting healthier (especially at O line) and the Cardinals were already a dangerous, up and coming team last year, with a QB that plays sandlot football anyway, and now they have arguably the best receiver in the game. A team like the Vikings had too many changes (in personnel) so they’re not the same. And the Texans now stink because they gave away the best receiver in the game and their coach has an ego the size of Mount Everest and the intellect of a gna.

When most of my square friends Coworkers...were bitching and texting me about the “chiefs suck”...”and they paid mahomes how much”...”KC gonna cost me”....here I was sitting on Chargers ML thinking this is week 2 of NFL You guys should learn how to cap and I’ve been doing this for way longer than you guys...It’s one thing to lose but seeing the squarest people bitch and moan on the squarest picks and hit later does get to me a lot more with the money burned....
I mean losing 3k on the day while 200 dollar ML parlays of coworkers texting me “I need KC! because I had ,Packers,Niners And for sure Ravens are gonna win on my parlay while the ravens were only up 10-7...makes the loses more brutal....

My take on it so far is....bad teams just have really bad coaches and defenses...watching the panthers defense looked like a pac12 defense with most guys I’ve never seen before...Defenses giving up 30 to 40 points a game! To the point where you just have to follow the square trend Let’s see when the raiders defense gets smoked tonight

I wouldn't start following the square trends now, they will probably get slaughtered now.

Crazy VZ, thanking Atl for that... I guess we could count Rams as opening favorites although they were the dog by kickoff... still some good covers ATS by the dog pound...
hopefully lines begin to inflate and we can find some good value..

Refs aren't calling holding by offensive linemen anymore(barely ever). This is usually in passing situations, so backing the better QB is wise right now. And the better QB is usually favored.
That thread by BB after week 1 about the situation is extraordinary, and I think many have dismissed it, some not.
Just my 2 cents.

https://www.footballdb.com/stats/penalties.html After 2 weeks, including the Raiders and Saints, 15 teams have not been flagged with offensive holding. Amazing how not having a pre-season has allowed players to play clean. <-------that's sarcasm
Amazing stat, I thought I had heard it was 18 teams today. Time to check out that list... I can tell you KC definitely isn’t on it after yesterday.

I saw that as well, an yet it’s amazing how refs can reach for the flag if they want to keep things tight/close. The big game on CBS yesterday was KC vs San Diego and the refs did everything they could to prevent KC from scoring on that last drive in regulation, including a couple of bogus holding calls. KC has the most this season: 5. I think they had 16 all year last year.
Here are the season averages thus far comparing last year to this year:
2019
2.83 holding penalties for 27.25 yard
2020
1.39 holding penalties for 13.61 yards

Btw, the refs did the same with Seattle yesterday to give us that exciting game by keeping things close. There was a big holding penalty in the 4th that caused Seattle to give the ball back to the Pats in good field position.
