LT pitched it to Chambers from the 25 1/2...Chambers was coming back down the field and caught LT's flip on the 26 1/2.  IT WAS A FORWARD LATERAL.  All this talk about not being able to advance a botched lateral is silly.  Of course you can pick up a botched lateral and advance it.  That would be a fumble.
 
The right call was made.  LT CLEARLY was guilty of a forward pass.

So you cannot return a fumbled backwards lateral for a TD. It's the same thing as when a dude just drops the ball and it goes backwards. What rule book did you pull that one out of, Pop Warner?

First of all, the points matter for tiebreakers at the end of the year maybe.

Second of all, the NFL and all non-bettors should care because the refs in the NFL have been horrible all year. This could have mattered in another scenario and then we would have had a SD'Denver issue.  They need to square this shit away.

If the rule is the pass was overhand, not forward, CBS needed to clarify, but they rush away for commercials and no one in the booth or truck has time to figure out what is happening. 

Poorly produced by the NFL AND CBS.

Have the books paid or are they waiting for a possible change in the final score.
 
I have been watching the nfl since the early 70s and if this 2nd to none travisity is allowed to stand i have watched my last NFL GAME.
 
By the way i had BALT last year VS CLEV too, i cannot take anymore REF. interference. I CANT.

Forward lateral or not...you can't advance it on a fumble.  Ref just fucked up by saying it was a touchdown.  Sucks, but whatever.  It is the rules

Some of you peopel are dolts...you can advance a lateral but it was a forward pass by Tomlinson by a yard...it was not a fix....and I had the Steelers.

 

If I had a dollar everytime "fix" was used in this thread, I'd be rich...or at least have my Pitt money back.

if NFL credibility is already on question, with this play they take a step backwards.  maybe I'm not an expert on rules,  but they review A PENALTY, what's next review every play for Holdings, offsides, etc...

Keith Olberman just said that LT's initial pass was "clearly forward", and even Costas said we rarely talk about this, but the point spread on this game was 3.5...so they knew what was going on..but of course didn't show the replay..on to Dallas!!
