I’m a minimalist, and everything that I had up until yesterday from a company truck, to perks, and a weekly check was truly all fleeting. I was held hostage by the plantation, but with not much to my name, which isn’t always a bad thing, I feel a huge sense of relief to take off the shackles, strip away the bondage, and walk away never to look back. In less than 16 hours since my situation has unfolded, I looked in the mirror this morning after I woke up, and I already see the worn-out, tired, and aging look diminishing, and the vibrant, youthful, and healthy look returning. That’s crazy to me how the body recognizes so quickly.
I’ve lived good, I’ve been poor. I’ve excelled to great heights by some standards, and I’ve hit extreme lows by my standards at times. I truly fear nothing but God.
I’m ready to take $3500 in my pocket within the next week and take my backpack and catch a oneway ticket and go for broke on sportsbetting in Vegas. What else do I truly have to lose, $3500? Okay.
My only advice I’m looking for is what’s the best place to stay off and on and close to a reputable sportsbook to lay wagers? Other than that, I’m winging the rest, but between now and next week, rest assure, I am drawing up a game plan and doing my due diligence to be prepared.

I suggest you stay in a Strip-view Presidential Suite at The Four Seasons for $3,000.00 the 1st night. (Live a little. You deserve it for making such a wise Life Choice!!)
There's a nice SportsBook at Mandalay Bay, which your soon-to-be-inundated with Hot, 10-Star Self-Employed Models is 60 floors above. Start betting right away - no doubt you'll win enough with that $500 stake to move over to the Sky Villa at the Palms - the one with the basketball half-court.

$3,500 budget - Offstrip local about 8 miles S/E of airport, Sunset Station (affordable) their sportsbook & Sierra Gold Sports Bar 1/2 block behind it William Hill. Dining prices more reasonable, walking distance to Mall, Walmart & other Dines

Save $9.99 at least in your pocket..Flixbus can take you anywhere within 500 miles. If you go on odd days..they have a special for $4.99.LV to Arizona ?
Hopefully, you will win and rent a Corvette and drive back.

Before you start betting grow some fear of Vegas Oddsmakers in addition to God. That way you will make wise and prudent choices and come out ahead. Be confident in yourself but not too complacent. Remember scared money never wins bets. When you don't know what to do, read Covers NFL forum and seek guidance. You will feel good about yourself on your way back home.

Good ol Sams town on Boulder Highway. Stumbled upon this place back in the late 80s. Had the best Happy hour and great live music to boot. 75 cents call brands. Anything You Wanted.
I would have Baileys on the rocks with a shot of Irish Whiskey on top plus an import beer. $2.25. Granted ,that was along time ago.But still, even then 75 cents was pretty dam!n cheap.
Ive thought about pulling a Leaving Las Vegas [you know the movie ] that is if anything ever happen to my dear wife.
Not so much the death by alcohol part, although that would be interesting, but grabbing my 401 and having a go of it.Maybe a part time job-maybe not,and stretching that nest egg over several years. 3 or 4 games at a hundred or so a week for expenses
Cheap apartment/condo and a dancer/waitress to spend some time with. I would party hard.
Damn,almost talked myself into it

Mid 90's I had quit a job and decided I wanted to take a shot at Vegas for the summer...had a nice RV and took 10k and stayed at an RV park just down the strip a ways...it was nice...
First month, playing all baseball, I was selective and made $27k getting lucky on a few parlays...thought I had found my long term new vocation...
Luck gradually ran out over the next 2 month...but it was still a great summer...about as much fun as a man can have starting with $10k and a dream...
Went back to Texas at the end of the summer, got a new job and enjoyed the memories...
I recommend the trip and the experience...if I was to do it again, bigger bankroll..more experienced now...would be playing poker and sports betting...it would last longer this time...
I just know it would....
PM for the skinny on the down low

Not sure if you have ever heard of the old covers poster CollegeGambler? CG made the same move and really showed how the city can get you in so many ways. Be alert and moderation is key.

$3,500? That's it? Dude be realistic. After you lose one of your bets, you'll be drunk and tilt it all away on some "guaranteed/lock" winner which ends up losing. Like everybody else has already told you, you need a bigger bank roll. Even then, $35,000 may still not be enough... Honestly, just think about it. You'll be all around those temptations. Gambling, poker, alcohol, possibly women if you want a hooker. $3,500 just ain't gonna cut it son..
"Schrödinger's bet." A bet that loses when you bet it but wins when you DON'T bet it...

Find a fixer-upper out there somewhere. Use $3K for a downpayment. Buy sleeping bags with the rest. Rent rooms/sleeping bags to fellow wannabe gamblers (crack addicts/person). Before you know it, you have a real bankroll and new friends.
Ha! "Person" was actually "person" in my original post.
That's some Covers magic right there.
