Peyton is simply the best

People seem to forget that the 49ers during the Montana years had solid defenses and solid running games.  Peyton has carried his team a lot more than Joe ever had to.  They are both fine QBs, but I would have to give the nod to Peyton.

If a team had to drive 80 yards and score a TD to save your life, who would you want taking the snaps.  Imagine that gun stuck to your head.  Give me Peyton!!!

Like you said... People sure do get caught up in the hype.

It's not too much weight being put on the post season, great QB'S get it done in regular and post season that is a bs statement

Peyton is a great QB, and maybe the best in the NFL right now.  But Joe Montana and Dan Marino were better.

You said it.  Nowadays, it seems everything that is very good is considered “the best ever.”  Hell, at least 3 times the past 10 years the media has hailed a college football team “the best ever.”  All those times the “best team ever” lost the championship game.

Also everyone was saying the 2007 Patriots were the best team ever.  ESPN was having all these computer generated matchups between the Pats and other great teams throughout NFL history and ESPN was saying the Pats would crush all of them.

Remind me again what happened to the “greatest team ever” when they played the Giants in the super bowl.

Right.  And we are saying that everyone is so quick to say that the current best is the “best ever.” Whether that be a team or a player.

Don’t get me wrong, I still think Peyton is a great QB and right now would be one of the top 10 of all time.  But before we call a team the greatest ever, we should let them play out the season; and before we call a player the greatest ever, we should let them play out their career.

The media is a wonderful thing, when they hype a guy they like, people fall for it and believe it till the day they die, that's just how it works.

Even when all the evidence stands up and shouts that it's  false, people still believe the hype of the media over the evidence that's staring them straight in the eyes.
