Very true. I've done it many times and said ok this is the week I get better and year after year it's like I just got smoked. Someone somewhere has to have the secret . Just the hard thing is finding it.

I would be really pissed if I went 7-3 and was down money. If I can just not blow my roll on 1 game for once lol. I think alot of us r guilty of that. The worst thing in sports betting sometimes is having a decent amount of money bc then you feel like when u have a good game I'm gonna fire it in. That's why vanzack was saying I should quit because even if I had a million dollars I could lose it in one game

Its really funny that after 130 posts in here - the OP is still looking for an easy answer or a quick soundbyte to help him.
He is the kind of person who says "I think I want to be a doctor. Can someone tell me how to do that so that I can be treating patients by tomorrow?"
WORK. DISCIPLINE. You ignore every comment in this thread that suggests you should work.
Here is my advice.... Take the next month and dont make a bet. Get all the data on your bets in the month of September. Do analysis to find out why you lose. Then do research on math and probability to understand how to go forward. Do not make another bet until you have a plan based on your findings.
You wont do this - because you dont like work - you are a loser. And I dont say that to be mean - it is what you are.

Whatever your bankroll is you should only be betting 1-3 % of it. If your punching holes in walls you are betting too much of your roll on games. Did you ever win at sports betting? Not just small streaks I'm talking long term. Do you have records of past seasons? Not small 10 20 game samples my grandma can pick 8 winners out of 10 I'm talking 2000 3000 games where you can look to and see your up units after. Do you have it separated sport by sport to see if there's any patterns where you do better in one sport over the other? I would even suggest not betting any games with real money but picking the games you like and documenting it see where you are after a thousand games. If your down then this probably isn't for you. Step away for good You'll be a happier more well adjusted person for it. Gl to you!

You see what you do? You ignore everything I posted because it hurts you to hear, and you are lazy. You love the soundbyte posts, and the support posts - but the second someone tells you what you actually should do - you deflect and change the subject.
You are a gambling loser. You will continue to be a gambling loser until you stop this behavior.

I'm looking for a way where I can stay at home and work and Sports is a passion of mine so I thought this could be it. Everywhere I call won't hire me right now and I am still learning to be a programmer. So I thought sports betting would finally help

I’m 61 and come from a family tree of addicts…almost all of them alcohol. Gambling has ruined my life to be sure. That said, I’ve accepted that it’s in my DNA and I still enjoy it. Here’s what I know from experience:
1) You’re an addict…most of us here are. Accept it and decide if you still want to gamble
2) The thrill of victory is never as thrilling as the agony of defeat is agonizing. You’re chasing $200K which accentuates this fact. You’ll win $1000 and feel nothing…”I’m still down $1999K” mentality….lose $100 and spend another $1000 chasing because, well, why not, “it’s just what happens to me”
3) THE WORST PART for me…If I was destined to be an addict, why’d I have to choose gambling? I could have carried on the family tradition and picked up a bottle. Society forgives alcoholics. They even pity those afflicted because they “have a disease”. Everyone knows an alcoholic. Gamblers on the other hand…we live quietly with our guilt and shame. After all, we just make stupid decisions and are reckless with our money…we are degenerates. Everyone is ok with being drunk…but no one wants the disgrace of being broke.
4) Here’s my mantra - Alcoholics can spend $7 a day getting drunk…stop drinking and get their sobriety back. If you stop gambling you’ll NEVER get your money back.

Seek help immediately for your gambling addiction...your comment of having suicidal thoughts is a 100% cry for help...no one here can help you...Google gambling recovery resources wherever you live and quit this life immediately...assuming you want to have any form of a future.
Admitting defeat takes courage...6 months from now you will be a completely different person if you take this advice.

Why did you say to me "Do you ever win?" as if I never win? You probably realize now nothing could be further from the truth. But in your dilemma no less what prompted you to say that? Just curious

You are not alone. 98% of the bettors lose money and reload. Even if they try to hang it up, they will find a way to get back in the game. The psychology of gambling works like that. You have to understand that over 98% of sports bettors are life time down and will continue to lose in the future as well. Now if you cruise around gambling communities like covers forum or other forums, social media etc, you will see many acting like know it all and have it figured it out but REMEMBER over 98% are losing and when you cruise here, you decisions will align with the heard mentality. There are few who wins consistently but it doesn't matter, even with those picks the losing gamblers will find a way to lose because they do not have the discipline or self control or patience for the long term game. Even those who manage to do it will crack after a week or month and mess it up because all the articles or posts that you see in sites like this or forum or social media will guide make you take more wrong decisions that right ones. Even those with decent handicapping skill will end up losing in the long run because they will lose discipline/self control after a hot run or a cold run. Bettors need to work on themselves rather than doing more research on games. Research on games on communities like this will make you go with heard mentality and over your life time you will be with the 98% than the few that wins. Even if your bankroll is small, you need to learn to use a conservative money management strategy. Your bet size may seem small but if you use a compounding strategy like the one explained here you will grow your bankroll small. Use spreadsheet like the one in that article with your picks to stay disciplined. Remember that no one hits 60% (assuming the average odds of the game that they play are -110 or better) over long term (over 1000 bet sample size) regardless of what these communities and marketers may make you believe! Most people who make a living on sports betting hit 56% or less. There are many who make a living hitting 48 to 50% too but their average odds are the bets better than even. For example, take a look at this spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15CSvrT3osJos4P-Fni102v5fvZqaqm8Q/edit#gid=1712378585 where 3% compounding money management was used to turn 5k into $1 million in 3 years and about 2000 bets. The hit rate during the 3 years just around 53% but the feat was accomplished by betting no more than 3% on any game but the compounding factor pays off if you are patient. Now if you give the same picks to to typical gambler, they will get wiped out in the first losing stretch because they won't have the patience to stay that disciplined long term. But if you stay disciplined and control all your urges, you will never have to reload your account again and you will get limited in many books. Even with a $500 bankroll that translates to a growth of 100k after 3 years. But when you start with your $500 bankroll, during the early stages you will be betting less than $15 per game and this is the hard part for most bettors because sooner or later they will run into some game of the year type bet that is getting hyped in these communities and make a big bet to lose the winnings that was slowly accumulated. Next they will get desperate and try to get those losses back and you know the drill. Same happens even if they luckily win that hype bet because that will lead them to chase more of those big pay days and they will get wiped out fast. I recommend reading all the articles at Betting Resource, it should help with discipline.

There are quite a few guys on here with really good NFL results right now.
Get a sheet of lined paper and draw about 15/20 evenly-spaced vertical lines.
Across the top, list the guys names (abbreviated) who say they have really good records right now (honor system, Pipe, you don't have time to go back through their posts).
Write in their TNF play, Sunday plays, and SNF play.
See if there's a consensus around a few teams.
That would be a good way to start since you have no interest in learning how to fish.
Or take all the good advice given here and save the 15K you have left and quit before you self-destruct.
Sincere BOL bud

It doesn't sound like you have much interest in quitting, best advice I could give in that case is focus on work/getting a better job first. After you have that sorted out treat this like a hobby and only bet what you can comfortably afford to lose. You won't ever make a living at it.
I played poker for a living for about 4 years and it was miserable. You'll be much happier getting a good job you enjoy and gambling as a hobby.

Check out the podcast on the home page of the Football Forum. Looks like Adam is going great guns!!!
That's information staring you in the face every day. Don't know why you couldn't think of these things on your own.
Have you ever seen "The Godfather", when Johnny Fontane comes to see Vito Corleone on his daughter's wedding day? Johnny stops in and tells the Don how his life is off the rails. Just the best response by Don Vito ever...you can even see Robert Duvall (Tom Hagen) start to lose it as he puts his head down and tries not to crack up. I'd love to see a reel of outtakes from that scene alone!!
PS - You keep asking over and over for a "secret". Guys have told you ad nauseam that there is no secret. If you just flip a coin I'd imagine you would have a better result that what you're telling us about your wagering history.
Again, BOL
