Yes, correct.  1 thing I am 100% confident is, is that the public will get destroyed betting on the Colts.   Colts backers are burning their money this weekend.

Public was heavy on them last week too (lightest on Sea vs Dal which was nearly 50/50 and so was the result since the Sea &#x2B;2 line pushed) and won huge. At least where I checked the percentage of bets that&#x27;s how it was.

That&#x27;s very interesting. That tells me they think Colts cover because most people are betting on them and they&#x27;re limiting it. Right?

Probably yes... I think the Chiefs should be favored by 6 or more but the Colts have Killed the Books winning 9 out of 10 and covering alot of those games..I would not be surprised to see most of the Favs cover this week being well rested and playing at Home..

I think some favorites cover this week not because the public is on the other side but because it&#x27;s most likely for it to balance out now. Especially because the favorites in the divisional round are usually supposed to be the better teams hands down and have all had a bye week.

Or it could just be that they have witnessed a big trend of Colts covering in the 2nd half of this season and are protecting themselves from that happening yet again?

here&#x27;s the pattern. underdogs tend to do better SU on wildcard weekend. favorites tend to win SU on divisional round usually at 3 to 1 advantage.. rarely have we seen 2 underdogs winning SU in this round i think its only happened once or twice in the last 8 years.. as far as the spread is concerned it&#x27;s usually 2 favorites, 2 dogs cover or sometimes 3 dogs and 1 favorite cover in the divisional round. it still isn&#x27;t bad taking the points here actually.. but if you&#x27;re planning to play ML you better be selective.

Yea, that&#x27;s what I&#x27;ve realized recently. Thinking Saints and Chiefs are the most likely favorites to cover? Definitely Saints. Although I really think it could be 3 this time where Ind, Dal, and LAC cover and Saints cover.

Agreed, DK.There has never been 0-4 ats for the favorites in the Divisional Playoffs since 2007. Favs went 1-3 ats five times in that time spam, with the rest has either finished at 2-2 ats or one time 2-1-1. The only 3-1 ats in favor of favorite was in 2009.

Oh, and another reason it might be most likely that majority underdogs actually cover this year in divisionals is because we have such a stacked NFL this season. Colts playing like a divisional team, they just aren&#x27;t because they had a bad very early season. Cowboys are simply a bad matchup for Rams and cover &#x2B;7 in my opinion. Chargers very slightly better than Patriots so taking the points should work. And then the Saints probably outclass the Eagles.

I do think the this is the Golden Age of Parity in the NFL and any team can win on any given Sunday (or Saturday).

&#xA;I assume you&#x27;re joking. The only favorite that has a much greater chance of winning than the public gives them credit for right now is New England. The Chargers&#x27; chances of winning outright is close to zero despite being the better team on paper on both sides of the ball and the edge in QB. I daresay the Chargers may even have the edge in coaching, although that&#x27;s debatable. Anthony Lynn impressed me by solving Baltimore&#x27;s running game last week. He plays every game on the road, and he kept the team together last year despite relocating to Costa Mesa (my home town!). Compare him to Jeff Fischer, who sucked bigly under similar circumstances.&#xA;The back-to-back cross-country travel, three consecutive road games, the 10:00 kickoff, and the cold weather all give the Chargers legitimate built-in excuses to lose. NE has kicked back the past three weeks and relaxed. They&#x27;ll flatten the Chargers, and then perhaps lose the AFC Championship game.

Do you really believe that there is a rhyme or reason to all those betting stats? Those kind of ATS stats don&#x27;t mean anything because the lines themselves don&#x27;t mean anything to the play on the field. Those are gambling stats not football stats.

yes to some extent i do it means that having a 1st round BYE is important for these top teams. more often than not the home team or favorite wins these types of games SU in the divisional round whereas in the wildcard round homefield isn&#x27;t as advantageous because the teams are more even and it&#x27;s usually a free-for-all as far as looking at it in ATS terms... not much of a difference but there is a noticeable pattern that 2 dogs and 2 favorites usually cover year after year. does it help with capping the game specifically? nope but it gives you a general idea of how the pointspreads may be set up?
