Billysun..Come for the FB, not the weather..We are about to get slammed with a huge long overdue 4-5 day winter storm, windy, cold, rainy..But yeah, if you know La Jolla, then you must have friends here and know of some good sports bars..Not typical SD Stadium tailgate weather...
 
Do you follow a beat writer from TENN named Paul (Horsky?)..He was just on our local sports radio AM show and said Bolts win by 14-17..Did the Titan fire him or is he just being accurate..

See your other thread for my answer but he's a great writer and the Titans' beat guy here for the local paper, The Tennessean.  A realist and I respect his thoughts.

I'll come for the football and if I make it out there, I will be at the game but may look for some restaurant ideas aside from Rainwater's and George's at the Cove (my usual haunts).  I'll let you know and we can maybe talk some football.

Steelers lose Starks to a season-ending knee injury

The Steelers have lost Max Starks to a season-ending knee injury, meaning Trai Essex will protect Ben Roethlisberger's blind side in Saturday night's AFC playoff game at Heinz Field against the Jaguars.

Starks sustained a meniscus tear in the Steelers' 27-21 loss to the Ravens Sunday, and he will have surgery to correct the problem, coach Mike Tomlin said today at his weekly news conference.

Essex, who filled in for Starks in the Ravens' game, will get the first crack at replacing him, Tomlin said.

Moving Alan Faneca from left guard to left tackle is also an option for the Steelers, Tomlin said.

Hard to beat those two..George's ATC is now called George's California Modern, will be curious to see what you think of the change..Rainwater's is hard to beat, Osetra's (wine drinker?) if you have not been there..with TENN fan's in town, I would try a few places in the Gaslamp for the atmosphers..
 
I highly reccomend stopping by Gordon Biersch and quaffing a few GB Winter Bock's...Not sure when I have tasted better..was there yesterday and they say it will prob run out by the end of the week..

Dan Diego-  Thanks for the clarification on George's.  I have to make my decision about the trip within hours.  A good friend of mine was able to purchase tickets on Ticketmaster yesterday which I found surprising to say the least.

I will let you know if I am coming so that we may discuss a Covers forum local before the weekend is gone.

Eli only has to play 29 or 30 mins.the time the "O" will be the field.
 
 He can do this he dosent have Peyton's skills ,but he does have desire. The NYGiants are 7-1 SU away  the same as Peyton's Colts and Romo's Cowboys.  Only N.E. has a better road win record..........

Everyone talks about momentum going into the playoffs and how important it is. I don't have any data to back, but from my memory it feels like the public darlings going into wildcard weekend always come out on the short end.

and Seattle this weekend
 
and lean toward SD, but still not sure on that one

Do the injuries on Pittsburgh's side scare anyone?  I mean Aaron smith on defense...and I think I read somewhere that they will be starting a 3rd string left tackle...Palamalu is still not 100%...They have given up a lot of rushing yards since Smith went down...Jacksonville is playing really well and they aren't fazed about playing on the road...I just see to many questions on pitts side...anyone agree?

10 - Can Philip Rivers not make mistakes to cost the Chargers valuable field position in what seems like it can be a low scoring game?

there's probably more but this is just some initial food for thought on a monday morning

There are two sides to all of these questions. Frankly I would not over analyze any of these wild card games. The better teams will win. It is that simple.

Thats all fine and dandy. I didn't post any GOY's or any GOW's or any of that crap. I just said the better teams will win. I' sorry if you don't like that. Frankly those questions aren't the ones that need to be answered IMO.
