Redskins fans.......your opinion of Jim Fassel?

I really hate this impending hire.  I wanted some continuity with this team as it seemed like they were finally meshing under Williams and Saunders.  I don't want the team to learn a new offense and defense again.   They also promoted Vinny Cerrato to Exec. VP in charge of scouting, drafting, salary cap, licking Snyders' balls, and anything else Danny wants him to do.  

Fassel??  Is he any good?  He sucked as Baltimore's OC after the Giants fired him.  He hasn't gotten a sniff since 2004 when Snyder was close to hiring him before Gibbs rescued the day. 

I wish we would just hired Greg Williams and keep Saunders as OC for at least one year.........and then sign Bill Cowher next year.

The skins should hire Gregg Williams to keep continuity.  The Skins have had way too much coach turnover, and the players suffer.

Fassel will probably bring in Rex Ryan to be DC.

Sounds like you copy-pasted that off ESPN.com website. thats all theyve been saying on sportscenter, almost those exact same words.

Fassel was a candidate for the Green Bay job before McCarthy got hired.
 
I emailed one of the Green Bay beat writers and asked him why Fassell wasn't hired and the guy emailed me back and said the rumor is that Fassel has a DRINKING PROBLEM.   
 
 
Don't know if it's true but that could be one of the reasons he hasn't been hired in a while.

damn didn't know he was a drunk too.   Hopefully he relapses during the year and then we go with Cowher next year.

getting fassel would be one of the worst moves the skins could possibly make
 
havent they fucking learned that you have to stick with a specific coaching system, implement it, and roll with it, and in time, but being patient, the players will get comfortable with it, and it will pay dividends.
 
gibbs comes in for 4 years, and finally they looked to get something going the 2nd half of this season, as the players got used to the system, and everyone was finally on the same page. it seemed they were headed in the right direction
 
im not sure about him bringing in rex ryan, only because i think he'll get the coaching job in atlanta, but who knows. who realyl wants to coach that team? lol.  either way, yes, fassel will bring in someone new, and it will be a completely new system and skins will be back to page one
 
seriously, how many coaches have the skins gone through this decade? will they ever learn?
 
the nod should go to gregg williams. the players want greg williams, which should be a big factor, but snyder wants to always hire the "big name coaches". yeah it worked real well with marty, spurrier, and return to gibbs.

not a huge skins fan, but ive lived in VA for a good while now, and theyre always televised. so i know a good little about them, and i enjoy watching them fuck up dallas, i hate dallas.
 
theyre not my team, NYJ are, but if i had to  pick a second, id be washington
 
i just get frustrated at some of the moves that personnel has made over the years.
 
letting dockery go was one of the dumbest fucking moves in franchise history. young, talented, and wasnt asking for a huge amount of money, but they have "no cap room for him"
 
so they brought in brandon lloyd, archuleta, and TJ duckett.
 
need i say anything more? 3 letdowns of the highest regard.
 
they keep burnell around still, the man isnt even mobile. yet they let good of carson palmers lil bro from UTEP, jordan, who i enjoyed watching,  and was excited when we drafted him. well we cut him before the last preseason game and he was instantly picked up
 
IMO, its greg williams, or mora, or nothing. fassel is an idiot, and would be the worst fit for this team
 
 skins, maybe theyll make a smart choice, ONE TIME.

no one wants to coach under dan snyder. he tries to micromanage like jerry jones, doesnt give the coaches enough leeway/freedom and tries to make all the damn management/personnel decisions himself.
 
what does vinny cerrato actually do? can any skins fans answer this for me? it seems like snyder is always pissing on him and making all the decisions himself.

Fassel has a good offensive mind and can develop a QB.  He is respected by his peers and players.  He got us to the SB and had a decent run w/ the Giants.  This being said he did nothing w/ the Baltimore offense which can be blamed on lack of talent.  If I was a Skins fan I wouldnt be so quick to bash the man and feel most of the hate is because he was a Giants coach in addition to the fact he cries out to be bitch slapped everytime you look at him.... but all this aside he would no be a bad hire at all

Fuck Fassel they better hire Williams. Why the hell would we start all over again like in 2004 with Gibbs, when we can keep the ball rolling the way it is now with Williams. Words from Mike  Sellers about 2 minutes ago. If Synder fucks this up, I am going to fuck him up.

Fuck. Breaking news. Looks like we will know in the mourning that Fucksall will be the new coach with Zorn as the offensive coordinator. They just got about 95% confirmation here on local channel in D.C.

Dan Snyder is an idiot.

He had Schottenheimer winning the last 5 games in his first year.  Brought the team back from the dead.  Got rid of all the expensive players.  And he fired him for Spurrier.

The only thing that keeps the Redskins going is Snyder spending as much $ as he possibly can.

cerrato's as much of an idiot as snyder is.

Supposedly cerrato and Fassel are good friends.  In Danny Boy's world, I guess that's real important.
