Isn&#x27;t forward progress awarded when there is a pile of players not moving forward? It looked like he was real quick to call forward progress. So now every time a player moves 4 inches backwards to play is blown dead. He was less then 1 second from moving forward, don&#x27;t they usually let the pile last 3 or more?

he still has to go to the ground. He is getting tackled, and was still off the ground. Had be put his hand down and picked himself up he would have been able to run. Forward progress is only called when the ball carrier has been held up and is getting driven backwards. Not when he has been hit and is still getting taken to the ground.

Like I said, good call..His momentum had clearly stopped going forward..If your momentum is stopped (which his clearly was), the whistle should be blown (which it was) If momentum is stopped you do not have to complete the tackle to the ground. I'm really sorry you guys lost your San Fransisco bets..

Alright so a WR gets hit while standing up, the hit drives him back 2 feet and you think the play is dead because the ball is not moving forward? You have to finish the play until the player is clearly not moving forward. Just because he is not moving forward doesn't mean the play is automatically dead. The ref blew that way to quickly.

The play was bang bang. it was not a drawn out play where the runner was intentional being held up to cause a fumble. He was hit, stayed up and on his way to the ground was stripped. Clearly a quick whistle that seemed to be a phantom call.

&#xD;&#xA;you&#x27;re wrong, as soon as the ball is stripped the whistle goes off. jake, i agree that he was hit and stopped, but it was too quick for a call like that. like big game said then everytime a running back or return get hit or tries to run around he is automatically down? thats retarded. the runner wasnt held up at all and it was split second from the hit. the "quick whistle" was after the ball was out and before it was recovered. TERRIBLE call. objectively, it was a terrible call
