Dewdew - did you have San Fran in the game?
Yea and they didnt make any favorable calls for SF? how about that punt where the giants should have gotten a TD(they ended up getting it anyway but they had to work for it)? instead they called it back to the spot of the turnover... since when cant you advance a muffed punt?

It was the correct call, and most of the time the refs blow the whistles if they happen to fumble. From what I heard, the ref blew the whistle after he had the ball ripped away. Plus, that is a reviewable play had they ruled it a fumble the Giants could have challenged that the players forward progress was stopped prior to the fumble.....And they would have won the challenge.
In the same breath, they could have easily reversed the call on the field when Vernon Davis was running down the sideline on his TD in the 1st Q. Tack on the 15 yards and it would have only been a 25 yard gain or so...
In the end, you can blame SF punt returner all you want, but they got to overtime and had a chance to win..In fact the last 5 minutes of the game and their series in OT were terrible. Alex Smith was constantly throwing the ball into the ground and at one point the 49ers WR's only had 1 catch late in the 4th quarter..That is not going to win you football games

.... and it was a bad call, im a NYer so no bias here but that was a very early whistle... obviously the refs didnt know he was gonna strip it out but they prematurely blew that whistle! SanFran was trying the rip the ball out all day n finally did it.... but the refs 'blew it' (no pun intended)
