Well would you really care about love for a game so much you would give up making millions of dollars for yourself and your family? I’m just saying that if there wasn’t any truth to it then players would be allowed to wager on games because it would be on even grounds right? Or what about players or coaches who never mention officiating issues to not get fined? I played baseball and football in college while making remarks about officiating. Granted I got into some trouble mostly because of my choice of words, but never a suspension or termination of my scholarship. Maybe you should speak to retired pros and see what they say before you go on rants trying to make others feel insane for what they are seeing.

I live in the Los Angeles area. I HAVE talked to many CURRENT (and former) NFL players on both the Rams and the Chargers, including Matt Stafford. (Many players are quite generous with their time and contribute to the community at various local events.)
Tony Corrente, an NFL official for 26 years, and I both graduated from the same high school in La Mirada.
I met Marcus Allen many years ago, and chatted with him for fifteen or twenty minutes, when he and his date visited the movie theater I was manager of.
All of the players I've ever talked to have completely denied the claim that the NFL is fixed in any way. (Of course, conspiracy theorists will simply say they are lying to me... they are "sworn to secrecy.")
Show me the evidence. That's all I've ever asked. No one has yet provided any at evidence all. If the NFL were fixed there would be a TON of evidence. That fact that there is none speaks volumes.
Your statement implies that the players would NOT be making millions of dollars if the game were on the level. There's no reason to believe that's true either.
Your beliefs are based upon incredulity and ignorance. ("I can't believe that outcome... therefore the game must be scripted.") That's not you determine something is true. That's not a proper foundation for belief. Your belief is bad reasons.

" _Most NFL players wouldn't stand for a script anyway. To be told that the game they love, the game they are good at, a game they've been playing for a good portion of their life, must now be given up..."
I think you underestimate the power of multi-million $ contracts.
I'm not saying the claims of rigging have merit. Just that the thought of players who are making millions of dollars and living in mansions wouldn't go along with a script is a bit....misguided.

I'm not one of the nuts who thinks the games are rigged. I have no evidence to back up such a claim, even if I was.
But how many times do you see an opening line spread or total, get bet up or down, just for the result of the game to land on the opening number? It happens enough times to raise eyebrows.
