GL this season

  • Damn, SD is at 10 on bodog now too. Good point there.
  • Bodog has CIN under 4.5 at -125, I think I'm going to hit that this week. No reason to wait until they drop it to 3.5, lol.
  • NYG are at 9.5. They have mediocre starting CBs, and have to play the pass-heavy Eagles and Cowboys for four games this year. (Then again, the Eagles' run D is supposed to blow, and NYG can run well.) Still worth taking a closer look at. I can't decide whether WAS is better/worse than they were last year. I suspect better, but with them, ya never can be sure.

You make a strong case. Here's what I'm thinking:

Last year, Carolina absolutely mailed it in. Thus, a 2-14 record. The owner pretty much sabotaged the roster. They would routinely lose players and not replace them with anyone of consequence. This year, they are.

I like their new HC far better than the old HC, and the defensive scheme has stayed the same. Their D was actually pretty solid last year, the stats were just distorted because they were on the field for 40 minutes a game.

Secondly, their offense is better than it was last season. Last season, they won two games with one of the worst offenses in history. This year, they have one more RB (they now know about Woodson) and a new QB, plus a more experienced Claussen and more experienced WRs.

Third, their schedule includes games against:
Tenn, Ariz, two against TB, Minn, Det, Wash, and Jacksonville. Out of those eight games, they could easily win five. Toss in an upset from one of the remaining 8 games, and you've got a 6 win team.

(Tenn is a definite win, I believe they'll probably beat TB once. Can they squeeze three more wins outta that schedule?)

Keep in mind that every other team is in the same boat regarding the lockout, and some teams like Detroit, already have lost two RBs. Washington has an injured Torain and a healthy Hightower, but he fumbled twice a game last year. Arizona is in the same boat as Carolina regarding new players, new QB, and no practice time. Jacksonville is a C+ team.

  1. Their new coaching staff is unknown -- literally. They haven't even met Chris Johnson.
  2. The O-line is reportedly worse. I need to investigate and confirm this, but that's what the initial reports are.
  3. They lost 3 defensive starters.
  4. Hasselbeck is a coin flip.
  5. Can a brand new coaching staff do better w/ a worse team than Jeff Fisher had? While it's possible, I wouldn't bet on it.

 

The Titans got much better just by subtracting Fisher. The culture needed to change for the better and it has. Titans should be able to beat Bills, Bengals, Browns and Panthers. All they have to do is win three other games and I'd say that's very likely.

I got Cincy at -120 $3600 to win $3000.  It went up to -145 yesterday!!!!

I got Cincy at -125 on Tuesday. Yeah, looks like it's going up for sure!
