Interesting you pick the sunday nighter.  This is probably the hardest game to pick, but I like it.  I guess it only makes sense that your play of the week is also the game of the week.

i hope SD will play a better game than they did last week...good situational play due to the distraction w/ the pats this week.

I know you're good, but, I wouldn't touch this game.   It seems to me the Pat's have something to prove. 
 
I want something that has no twist.  Cleveland is terrible. Why not Cinn?  They're only giving 7.  I'm in LV and I'm all over Cinn.
 
With all the games out there, you picked this one.

NE beat SD last year in the playoffs with a much inferior team....NE is at home...But most of all NE has to win to stop all those haters from saying that the only reason their winning is because their spying

NE wins SU, probably a close game.....take NE ML

San Diego @ New England
 
I have always done well in isolated games and marquee matchups ...
A good example is my MNF plays
 
Yes there are a lot of games out there with " easier  "
matchups ..but week one buried more dogs than michael Vick
ever did in his dog fighting days  ( ok maybe not )
 
I love the Steelers, Bengals, Jaguars, Saints , Colts as much as anyone simply because  any of these teams could crush their opposition and we would not be in the least surprised.
 
But, I expect surprises and I don't want the word sucker tattoed on my forehead come Monday morning ...
 
I needed to find a reliable dog that has already been trained , and  one that had a legitimate chance at having the last bark.
 
In short I needed a team that has proven it can beat the odds and has the motivation and makeup to do it again ...
 
 
Well , such a team is the San Diego Chargers
 
Let's first look at some favorable trends >>>
 
San Diego is 16-6-2 ATS in their last 24 road games
San Diego is 10-1-2 ATS last 13 games as a road underdog
Underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings
San Diego has won 11 straight regular season games
San Diego did not lose a single game by over 3 points last year
( regular season or playoffs ) ... 3 losses by 3 points
New England is 2-12 ATS in ahome game where the total is between 45.5 and 49 points
New England is 4-8 ATS and 5-7 SU when the total is above 45
last 5 years
 
The bottom line is that San Diego is a great road dog to take !
 
 
Last ( playoffs ) game between these teams was very competitive , as New England won 24-21 with 1: 10 remaining on a 31 yard field goal erasing an 8 point fourth quarter deficit in the process. 
 
Chargers however held the lead for most of the game and edged NE in time of possession .
The Chargers are an excellent team when it comes to time of possession and proved it again week 1 against
the NFC champions Chicago Bears by holding the ball  for 37: 03 min to 22: 57 for the Bears .
They will need to keep this edge in order  to keep the ball away from Tom Brady and his new offensive weapons.
 
 Brady delivered 22 of 28 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns against the Jets week 1
 
The Patriots held the ball for 33: 09 compared to only 26:51 for the Jets .
 NY only mustered 60 yards on the ground , but don't expect San Diego to do the same .
 
 L. Tomlinson has three 100 yard rushing games against the Patriots ...and in their last regular season meeting he rushed for 134 yards and had 2 touchdowns .
 
Let's take a look at that game >>
 
San Diego wins 41 - 17 on the road in Foxboro
New England loses as a 3.5/4 point favorite ...precisely the line we have for Sunday's game .
 
San Diego had the edge in time of possession 36: 38 to 23: 22 of the Patriots .
 In total the Chargers have 40 rushes for 183 yards while limiting NE to only 73 yards on the ground .
It was a rout and San Diego proved then that it can beat the stuffing out of this team. 
San Diego has a new quarterback and New England is now loaded at the wide receiver position , but the fact remains it happened then ...when New England was favored to win the game just as they are now .
Last week ...
Moss, Welker and Donté Stallworth combined for 263 of Brady’s 297 passing yards, but they will need a balanced attack to beat the Chargers.
Chargers’ physical front seven should pose plenty of problems for the Patriots.
It will be nice to have Shawne Merriman ( expected to play )  along with Shaun Phillips in the lineup to remind Tom Brady he is not playing the Jets .
I expect DT Jamal Williams' ability to collapse the pocket to be another disruptive force for the Chargers in this game . 
 
The absences of Richard Seymour and Rodney Harrison in this matchup could have an impact specially for the  loss in versatility that Bill Bellichick likes to have available in his game plan.

I do believe LT will run wild in this game.
 This may be a case where the Patriots know what's coming ( and I don't mean because because they cheated ) but can't stop the vision, tenacity, determination, and motivation of >>>
 
 
Philip Rivers will have gained from his experience playing in a playofff game @ foxboro against the mighty New England Patriots
last year.
I have tremendous respect towards NE for what they have accomplished , and until recently how they had gone about it .
 
But the disruptions are becoming more common and a very determined and talented San Diego team will have a good shot at exacting revenge for that playoffs loss .
San Diego's defense should cause enough disruptions and stops to keep this game close .
In the end maybe another field goal will win it ...

to tough to call this one roberto  i liked charges at first but with new coach  the way they looked in opener  dont like them here      also this cheating thing will not be distraction but motivation on pats side

Check it out RobertoF.....With "Patriot Gate" happening this week and all the comments going back and forth between the two teams is going to make for a hellava game Sunday night.  Get your popcorn ready.  Its true that San Diego have been good road warriors in the 2 past seasons but the Pats are going to use all this negative press as a us against the world motivation for not only in this game but for the rest of the season.   I plan to get out my shiney nickel and flip heads Pats, tails Chargers for my pick on this game.  Only kidding, I like the Pats to kick a game winning FG as time expires 23-20, thus I like San Dog +3.5

i agree with the san diego angle.. i think they keep the game close, and maybe win outright. i think they are the better team, especially while NE lacks a few key defensive starters. only real concern is that Norv turner will fuck shit up like he has been known to do in the past...
