And that's why the spread is what it is. If you read the info, it's not even about GB. It's about a team coming off back to back blowouts. Surely most of the teams in this situation were "relentless" and pretty damn good themselves, yet failed to cover.
I know what he posted and understand the trend. So the fact that a backup QB coming off a poor showing in a very winable game is now facing the best in the league should be ignored? I interjected my view on top of his because each situation is different. It's your money.

Back to my first thought about why the patriots play so hard when they do. When the patriots romp and stomp they do so because they are on a mission of destructions. I don't see that here. I see them just wanting the win here against a beat up packers with nothing to really prove.
Exactly. There was no war of words this week with the current opponent. There was no Rex Ryan declaring that his team was the better team. There was no media hype going on and on about how the Jets defense is the one defense Tom Brady can't seem to solve. There was no talk about the Patriots being "limited" in their passing game by having to play in "Bears weather." There was plenty of fuel added to the fire prior to facing the Jets and Bears. What fuel is their here? No trash talk from the Packers. No silly hype in the media about the Patriots being vulnerable for one reason or another. No, instead the opponent's Pro Bowl quarterback is injured and an unknown is starting in his place. I don't care how great the Patriots are capable of playing, no team can get as FIRED UP as New England was the last two weeks when your opponent has shown you nothing but respect and you're facing them without their most dangerous weapon. Add to that the fact that no fan or talking head is doubting you in the slightest. Instead the consensus is that you're magnificent in every way, your farts smell like flowers, and the mints on your pillows are already waiting for you in your hotel rooms in Dallas.
When this happens, complacency creeps in. It's human nature. The Patriots are better than most NFL teams are about avoiding the plague of complacency, but even if they're just a little complacent, which they HAVE to be, then this line will be very, very tough to cover and keep covered.

Wow Ít´s IT´S AMAZING HOW MR.BATOR CHANGE THE POINT OF VIEW OF EVERY GAME...I´M NOT AN EXPERT BUT SOMEYIMES THE TREND JUST SAY NOTHING ABOUT THE PRESENT AND I THINK IT´S THE TIME....DO YOU THINK LIKE YOU SAID THAT AS GREEN BAY HAD THE TIME TO PREPARE TO THIS GAME, NE HAS TOO.
THREE SIMPLE FACTS:
THE GAME IS IN NE..
GB IS TOTALLY DESTROY AND WITHOUT HIS QB (DID YOU WATCHED THE LAST GAME VS DETROIT)
THE NE OFFENSE IS GETTING BETTER EACH GAME
LOCK HOMEFIELD AD FOR PLAYOFF IF THE WIN.
I RESPECT MR. BATOR TREND AS ALWAYS BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE.
In this case i think It's all about running back Ben-Jarvus Green- Ellis. Ellis has come through for the Pats repeatedly, contributing 184 carries for 786 yards and 11 rushing TD's. The opponent is always thinking pass but in these cold weather games like Sunday against the Packer, expect Ellis to be a huge factor in this game.
Also Deion Branch has rejoined the Patriots and picked up where he left off.. In 9 games Branch has 648 yards and 5 TD's. He always comes through for Brady and that's why Bellichick brought him back. How can we forget Wes Welker. Welker has caught over 100 balls in a season and I still can't figure out why the Dolphins let him go. Welker has 80 receptions for 787 yards and 7 TD's. These receivers are very reliable and that's why Bellichick has them in New England.
So for me... NE -13,5 BIG..
Good luck guys!!!!

Lets not forget that GB has a terrible run game. Therefore, putting the ball in the air with Flynn is the best chance they have at moving the ball.I wouldn't put your money on GB.

That a lot of thought for a game like this. Let me give you these stats: NE has won 26 at home in a row (reg season), they are out to prove something, they tear up good d's, Brady and BB have more weapons at their disposal then ever. No chance this is a close game.
Darn it! I really needed this one, too! Fuck me!

This one is a no-brainer for me. You guys always try and overthink these games but Flynn v.s. Brady... if this line were 24 i wouldn't trust taking the Pack. I think NE proved last week that they're not a team that has a let down and they don't take weeks off. With Belichick an Brady against a Rookie Qb this game has blowout written all over it. And if Vegas wanted all action on NE this line wouldve been 11 or 12. This line is right where it should be. NE 34 GB 14.
How in the fuck do you bet Green Bay, with a QB that has played only 2 quarters of football all year ?
This is another New England blowout 38-13.

Hey Bator I hope you're freakin' right, I was leaning this way as well. Do you think 10 pts on a parlay card is enough, as the card I can play has GB +10 and CHI -4, was wanting to use them as legs 2 and 3 in several parlays. What you think ?
I don't care if God Himself spoke to me in the middle of the night and gave me the play - I am not letting anyone clip me for 4 points on a game. You have to leave Green Bay +10 off that ticket.

This actually happened to me once. The play lost. Even God's not perfect.

Good Write Up! The only issue I have with this is that as much as there are certainly no locks in sports, I think it is fair to assume that New England won't lose the game. Given that, Green Bay could be in a holding on situation for the cover and that could put the spread in a coin toss situation.

Disagree with you. The line is up to 15.5 bringing all of the Packers players in at a "can't miss" line. Pats absolutely roll, again.
New England 34
Green Bay 13
The line, whether it be 14, 14.5, or even 15.5 doesn't seem to be discouraging too many people from laying the points in this game (as you can see by reading through this thread).

By the way, thanks for rehashing the conventional wisdom.

Speaking on behalf of all Packer +14 backers, I don't think more than a very small number of us think this is a "can't miss" bet just because we're taking 14 or 15 points. I certainly don't think that. Have you talked yourself into believing that the oddsmakers have succeeded in drawing the majority of the action on Green Bay?
