Hey guys, I am new to this forum but I am hoping to be a great contributor over the next days and months. You can call me MD (my initials). I have been betting on sports for 12 years and professionally for five years. Professionally in the sense that this is my only income. I have dabbled onto this forum before but never chose to sign-up as I have always been very superstitious that sharing my picks and my system with other people only puts more stress on me to win. I never really shared my advice with friends or family either, for that same reason. Just recently a friend of mine, who I do share my picks and strategy with, urged me to sign-up. He told me that good karma comes from posting on these boards and that rather than worrying about letting people down to embrace the fact i'll be winning others money if I keep my head on straight and continue to do what i've been doing.
Just wanted to fill you in on how I found my way over to this forum. I expect that, with all the time I spend on the computer anyways tracking lines and reading, i'll be spending lots of time on Covers, and will be nice to share my job and passion with you guys. Now a brief introduction onto how i've been living off betting the past four and a half years:
I do not wager on pointspreads.
I do not wager on totals.
I do not wager on quarters, halves or propositions.
I do not wager on parlays or teasers.
I only wager on NFL/CFB + NBA/CBK + MLB + NHL.
I ONLY make Moneyline wagers.
That last point is the most important. When I handicap sports, I take out all the confusion that sportsbooks try to throw at the investor (us) with these prop bets, halves, etc. but I go to another level and take out all pointspreads. My philosophy is that the pointspread is just another distraction and so I handicap these sporting events looking for just one thing: the winner!
It took years of trial and error before finally coming up with a system and gathering the patience to take this as a job rather than a hobby and if anyone is willing to take sports betting serious than you can follow along with me (even if you don't take my advice on the games).
If you are interested in learning a little more about wagering on sports for a living; the ups and the downs or on how I do it ie. setting a start bankroll, a starting unit size, dividing your year into quarters and setting goals for each quarterly; then just ask your questions in this thread or send me a private message.
This was just an introductory post and i'll explain more in a few moments. Glad to be here and I am anxious to help out. Currently there are two weeks left in my quarterly, and my next section of three months begins October 1st until December 31st.

There is no "system" other than that as all of my selections are based off of my own handicapping and experience.
How much I wager? My past results? This is my living and though I will keep all of this information private, I do start with a set bankroll every January 1st and divide my year into four quarters with the goal of winning 50 *units* each quarter (three months). My drop dead requirement for each quarter is win 20 units, but winning only 80 units each year leaves me barely getting by. I have done great since starting up this strategy 4.5 years ago. My worst year was the 1st in which I finished +86 units, with my best year being 2008 in which I finished +177 units. All of this is in the past though and you should decide whether or not my strategy to sportsbetting is suitable for your bankroll.
If you are in this business year-in-and-year-out like I am then hop on board. If you are just looking for a quick buck then I bet my selections at the right time. All handicappers go through the high's and the low's but it's all about meeting those goals and getting that money!
How I will rank my NFL moneyline picks:
ONE = 1 UNIT (1% of bankroll)
TWO = 2 UNITS (2% of bankroll)
THREE = 3 UNITS (3% of bankroll)
FIVE = 5 UNITS (5% of bankroll)
*I will keep track of my NFL records for each category (1 unit, 2 unit etc.) in the College Football thread ONLY, including my overall results for when I bet FAVORITES and the overall results for when I bet UNDERDOGS. I will also include the overall results per sport as seen below*
Moneyline System YTD: 0-0 + 0 UNITS
NCAA-F: 0-0 +0 UNITS
NFL: 0-0 +0 UNITS
MLB: 0-0 +0 UNITS
NHL: 0-0 +0 UNITS
NBA: 0-0 +0 UNITS
CBK: 0-0 +0 UNITS

Great Electric. More lame jokes and terrible contributions.
also for the record about terrible contributions
I play poker for a living, go on the poker board all the time and posted my blogpage for all the guys strugglin with poker so they can see how i do it. All everyone did was say Im cheating and say online is rigged and blah blah blah yet all i did was make 2k/week each week for the month while blogging.
Yet I come back to the poker forum and all anyone talks about is it being rigged. My point is even when you contribute to this forum in any way people dont listen, dont care, dont believe, and still just go about their loser routines.
Then when an OBVIOUS bullshitter like MB comes in and I see you defending him its just the epitomy of stupidity, and youre the ringleader

Haters are out and about. I guess this was to be expected. Definitely liking the energy in the College Football thread much better.
I am not here to tell everyone to follow me .. I am not here to tell everyone I am the best and that I have the cure for all their money problems ....... I am here to keep me sane (having someone to talk about my job and passion with) and I am here to win money, help others win money and have intelligent conversations.
Trust me, when I have told people that i've met in bars here in New York that I wager on sports for a living .. they are always shocked. You can do that? How do you do that?
I rarely bore them with what this lifestyle is really like ie. a lot of boring reading and alot of line movement tracking and the uncertainty that you'll profit enough each quarter to continue living this way.
I have learned to block out any negative comments these people have for me thanks to the people i've met in bars, along with my family (who are very religious and don't necessary believe gambling is a respectable lifestyle). So if you are here to discredit me, though you don't know me, or to wish bad luck for me ... then please leave my threads and just don't enter. This is my first and last comment towards anything negative that is posted in my threads .. so if you are expecting a rebutle from me, you're not getting one.
I am not going to share with you my personal life on a public forum, but like I said before if you've got any questions for me you can always private message me and i'll respond. Anyways, out with the negativity .. in with the positivity. LETS HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!

Ruk .. no system is involved. I have been handicapping long enough to know that no system will prevail over the long term (ie. 10 years). When you rely on your winnings to eat, placing your money on a team that a system tells you is blind betting .. and I cannot do that. If I don't have an edge or a strong opinion on a game I won't even make it a 1 unit selection. The system is that I take out all the distractions sportsbooks throw at us and focus soley on the winner of every game. Makes life alot easier over the long run. It took more than a year to correctly figure out how to rank my wagers though to provide the best ROI, but no complaints so far .. and I pray that things don't change now that I am posting on here. If they do, reluctantly i'll return to gambling in private. I won't be around much this weekend guys, taking a little get-away with the wife, but i'll have my phone with me and may post/update a few times throughout the weekend. Goodluck with all your selections.

I'm wondering if your successful in each league..... or are you successful in all?
I ask because I'm going to run with your NFL picks and test you out...
I like how you picked all Home teams.... is that a general rule you follow or is that week specific?
the other thing I can't ignor is let's say you win all of your games
DET, GB, DAL, ATL.... and then you lose SD....
I'll use $100 to make it simple....
225 + 100 + 200 + 300 = 825
if San Diego loses your down 1,675 less the 825 you won.... which is about -850
you'll be banking on SF to beat the superbowl champs at home to win back half of your money?
my question to you is, if SD is your best play.... why not just break the bank on them?
I'm asking this in all seriousness and not trying to be argumentative.... I am having a little trouble understanding the logic and I'd like to think I know what I'm doing lol!
you can private message me the answers I friend requested you
