The refs didn't rule it a completed pass...see you didn't even look at the video. The ruling on the field was that it was an interception, a fumble, and a fumble recovery.
Morelli the crew chief looked at the replay and made the ruling. The much better question for you to ask is why the ruling was overturned.
The video clearly shows Polamalu making the interception...end of story.
Refs ruled it a completed pass and then fumble and recovery. Can not be a fumble and recovery without first being a completed pass.
It took me about 3 minutes to google the catch rule in 2006, when a player catches the ball falling to the ground he must maintain control of the ball - AFTER - contacting the ground.
The ref overturned the call because he said Troy's knee was still on the ground when Troy lost possesion, he did not maintain control - AFTER- contacting the ground, do do that he needed to have his knee off the ground before losing possesion.
The reason the call was complerted pass and fumble was you'd have to look at the play to slow motion to see that yes indeed his knee was on the ground when he lost possesion, watch the video, it is all there.
Now, let's look at howe this game played out, any evidence that the refs wanted Colts to win ?
Penalities.......................Steelers 2 for 8 yards, Colts 9 for 67 yards.
Who were the refs helping now ?
Steeler 1st downs 21...........Colts 15.
Steelers 3rd down conversions 6 of 14, Colts a dreadful 3 of 13.
If a ref wanted Colts to win this game it sure does not show up in how the game was played.
A holding call can be made on almost every pass play and a pass interferance call can be made on most every pass play if the refs wanted to, yet despite this Colts only had 3 of 13 on 3rd downs , refs easily could of helped the Colts get more 1st downs if they really wanted to help them win.
So your saying the refs waited till Steelers had a 21-10 lead with only 5:26 left in the game before they decided to help the Colts win this game ?
The evidence of this game does not support what your saying Lancer.
Your making up want you want to hear Lancer, simple as that.
And because somebody on youtube said it was so is not evidence of anything.
The only evidence that can be seen by your post is, you like to bend the info into what you what it to be.
