Wow.. I haven't been here in along time. Hope everyone is alright. So NFL is back on finally and I remembered this trend I thought I would share with you,

The Super Bowl loser trend :

As you can see by the trend below, the super bowl loser is an amazing 2-14 ATS since the 2000 season, this awesome trend go 2-15 ATS?

2015-2016 Seattle loses @ St Louis 31-34 SU & loses ATS (-3.5)
2014-2015 Colts @ Denver wins 24-31 SU & loses ATS ( -8.5)
2013-2014 GB @ SF wins 28-34 SU & wins ATS (-5.5)
2012-2013 New England wins @ Titans 34-13 SU & wins ATS (-5.5)
2011-2012 Pittsburgh steelers loses @ Balitimore ravens 7-35 SU & loses ATS (+1)
2010-2011 Indianapolis loses @ Houston 24-34 SU & loses ATS (-1)
2009-2010 Arizona Cardinals loses (home) vs SF 49ers 16-20 SU & loses ATS (-7)
2008-2009 NE wins (home) vs KC 17-10 SU & loses ATS ( -16 )
2007-2008 Chicago loses @ SD 3-14 SU & loses ATS ( + 7 )
2006-2007 Seattle wins @ Detroit SU 9-6 & loses ATS ( -6 )
2005-2006 Phil loses @ Atlanta 10-14 SU & loses ATS ( -1.5 )
2004-2005 Carolina (home) loses vs GB 14-24 SU & loses ATS ( -3 )
2003-2004 Oakland loses @ Tenn 20-25 SU & loses ATS ( +3 )
2002-2003 St Louis loses @ Denver 16-23 SU & loses ATS ( -3 )
2001-2002 NYG loses @ Denver 20-31 SU & loses ATS ( + 7 )
2000-2001 Tennessee loses @ Buff 13-16 SU & loses ATS ( -1 )

1999-2000 Atlanta loses vs Minn 14-17 SU & wins ATS ( + 4 )
1998-1999 Green Bay wins 34-19 SU vs detroit & wins ATS ( -9 )

So, the significance lies in the streak ATS for the Super Bowl loser in their first regular season game after their loss, it stands now at 2-14 ATS.

During this streak, these teams are 5-11 SU.

SB losers have played 11 of previous 16 week 1 games on the road with a record of 1-10 ATS and 2-8 SU.

SB losers playing at home for week 1 have a record of  ATS 1-4  SU 3-2



My pick tonight is Denver ML and Denver +2.5.

I should also point out that since 2000, denver has played the SB loser twice and is 2-0. Not only that, but when they were the SB loser themselfs. They won. Making them currently stand at 3-0 SU! 3-0 ATS

While carolina has been a SB loser before and lost SU and ATS.. 0-1 SU ATS 0-1

This trend is now 2-15 ATS and 5-12 SU. I hope you all took Denver Ml and +2.5 like I did.
