I see a bunch of criticism against BB's post with no real merits or stats to back up. If ya'll try to counter his capping, great.  Have some real argument instead of some one liners about how Vikings will win and toot your horns.  The man put his effort and capping out there.  

Don't forget how many people were skeptical of Cousins' prime time record before yesterday, and now everyone is on board with him.  Vikings essentially had a bye week to prepare vs. the Saints went all out to win a bye week and Saints still had a chance at the end.

Yes, Zimmer is a real genius. The guy looks like an undertaker who has worked too many overtime shifts at the morgue. And captain Kirk is the second coming. More like the poster boy for PTSD. I'm sure those are the faces the NFL wants you to see for the next two weeks as they promote their brand. Much better then the team with vivacious personalities like Kittle and Jimmy G that has provided more exciting games in one season than the all the nfl teams combined. I'm afraid if there is going to be a controversial call or two in this game, it is the Niners who will benefit. 

Yesterday's Vikings game wasn’t a prime time game; neither is next week’s, so technically those people aren’t wrong.

I don't care how good the 49ers are I look at there head coach and I cannot back them. Kyle Shanahan just scares me. He makes some really bad decisions in key moments of games.

That’s why most gamblers lose money, because operational definitions cannot be changed just to fit desired criteria. Prime time is between the hours of 8:00 - 11:00 pm. You can say yesterday was a prime time game, but it wasn’t.

No, their time is done. The NFL has to start promoting their under 40 years of age stars. Of the top 25 selling jerseys in November, the Niners have 3 players (Bosa, Kittle, Jimmy G), by far the most of any team still in the playoffs. Good luck with your Vikings play.  

Brees vs Brady is third grade level obvious. Because  they don't do what you would, proves its not staged? That's why they're billionaires  and you're a consumer . The nfl enjoys ripping your heart out more than giving  you joy. Constantly  leaving you wanting. 

The Saints are forever  the loser. They won't get another SB for 50 years. Brees got his one, that's it.

I'll take that any day as I have 10 units on the Niners at +300 to win the NFC plus 3.5 units at +160. Hawks would easily be +250 in that game thus providing a hedging opportunity.

Your premise is the Vikings Played the game of their lives.  While their D played great, their offense, and play calling was marginal at best.  And when your premise is wrong, any argument after that nonsensical.

Bunch of haters in here. I can attest that BB is not a homer. He’s thought about fading the Niners in the regular season. One match up I remember was with the Falcons. Also, he’s faded the Golden State Warriors as well. Enjoyed the write up BB. Although, I won’t be betting on the game, I do have Niners futures as well and will be rooting for them to advance 

I tried to give an honest an assessment of the game without getting bogged down in stats and trends that are better left to those who give such things more weight than they often deserve. What's funny is that I decided not to go too much into the psychological, emotional stuff because most people would not get it or care. But since they don't care regardless of what I post I'll post it anyway.

As I've said often, the sports gods don't reward mediocrity, though there are always exceptions. The Vikings have been a dysfunctional team bordering on functional for the past two years. They have a smart, no-nonsense coach with a weird temperament who either brings the best or worst out of his players with no in between. He also is not very good at managing his players psyches and egos as demonstrated by all the infighting this year between qb and receivers and even between defensive players that spilled onto the sidelines, especially when things were not going well. Great teams have good to great chemistry and rarely allow such fissures, even if they exist, to show in public. There are countless examples of this in basketball because it is a sport where players often have more say and power than coaches. Last years celtics and even warriors are examples of teams with chemistry issues. The warriors were so talented that they almost overcame them, while the Celtics bowed out shortly after making everyone believers by sweping the pacers team in the playoffs. The Vikings kind of remind me of that Celtics team. Even in victory against the Saints they allowed their dysfunction to spill out because guys with massive egos and paychecks were not getting "theirs." Individual accolades and accomplishments were more important than winning. Or guys were only content with winning as long as they played a noticeable role. This kind of culture is foreign to this Niners team. Most of these guys have been through the dark days of losing together and understand and appreciate the opportunity they've been given. They play together and for each other. This year they have been through hell fire together, overcoming injuries, demoralizing losses, and close games they could and should have lost if not for their togetherness, to reach this point. Are such factors important when capping a game? I think they are. Do most people think they're important? Probably not. But I'm not capping for those who view the world through numbers rather than the human heart.
