If you are a 49ers you do not want to see the seahawks, since it would probably come down to the wire like the first two games.
Meant to say seahawks are the good team that is lucky.

The Vikings signed rookie DB Nate Meadors in a corresponding roster move. Mike Hughes (neck, IR) is also done for the season, leaving Xavier Rhodes (PFF's No. 123 CB), Trae Waynes (No. 69) and S Andrew Sandejo to pick up the slack. Only nine teams had at least four CBs graded outside of PFF's top-50 corners this season. The Texans (5) and Vikings (4) are the only playoff teams to appear on that list.
If the Niners o-line can buy Jimmy G some time, they will eat up this Vikings secondary. And I believe they will because of Shanahan's ability to draw up plays that confuses/freezes the defense for that extra second to get guys open. Unlike the Saints, the 49ers are not a one or two-trick-pony. They have several players who can catch the ball and create havoc in the secondary (Kittle, Sanders, Samuel and even Juszcyk). Shanahan also has the penchant for finding an opponent's weakness and picking on/at it, like an open wound or scab: again and again.
I also fully expect the Niners to shut down the Minni running game and force Cousins to beat them with his arm. As I mentioned in my writeup, the Niners have spent a lot of time during the bye week working on their run defense and even brining their nose tackle out of retirement to shore things up in that area. If they have any aspirations of winning the SB they know they'll likely have to face the Ravens running game, which dominated time of possession in their lone meeting. If they can't stop Cooks--who, btw, for all the accolades being heaped upon him last week only averaged 3.4 yards a carry--they'll never stop the Baltimore running game.
Finally, almost all the "experts" and prognosticators, with a few exceptions, expect this to be a close game and/or an outright win for Minni. But when you read their rationale it is all based on the Vikings performance from last week and numbers and stats from the regular season (as they cherry pick stats and numbers that will support their side), with no mention of why Niners defense has dropped off, or just how important/advantageous this bye week is for the Niners who had the toughest schedule of any team this year.
Good luck whatever your play

If the Niners O Line can protect Jimmy G they should be able have an excellent Day of offense with the Vikings injuries in the secondary... Last week the Vikings moved their edge rushers Hunter and Griffen inside many times to attack the Saints weaker part of the Line( like Peat) This bothered the Saints the entire game and helped protect their secondary.. I have the Niners minus 6.5. GL

I posted this on my thread one thing to ponder to ponder BB since 1990 a starting Quarterback who starts his first game as a no 1 seed is 4-5 only Kurt Warner made the SB.. also 2-7 ATS..
I don't love it when analysts pick winners because they are usually loosers just like when all fox analysts picked the saints but the picks have been evenly distributed... Minnesota loves the underdog card they play it really well .. i think 49ers weakness is Gimmy G he could be a turnover machine.. I'm not too worried about the secondary it's the same that played the Saints

No one gives the vikings any credit -- careful with this one

What the hell are you talking about? You have been saying all week that everyone is picking the Vikings. Today I went through all the news sites and top analysts and 95% of people are on the Niners to not only win this game, but to win the NFC.

I think that Niner dude said it as well, but this is confirmed. You seem like a smart guy, but you are definitely the biggest homer ever...

Personally, I believe the coaching edge is vastly underrated and makes a huge difference.
Who do you feel has the coaching edge, and by how much, between Zimmer and Shanahan?

This is a bold statement. I wholeheartedly disagree. Kyle Shanahan may be one of the best coaches and more importantly, play-callers, in the league.
We'll find out tomorrow

lol its scripted. it doesnt matter what you havent seen from Garoppolo. SF defense is the story, so it doesnt matter. Cousins is nothing. he isnt the star.
he hasnt dated any porn stars or been on Bradys team. he's a nobody in entertainment football. nothing surprising will happen. SF is winning no matter what the score

I think the only way the 49ers win is if they get a good lead early on Minnesota. If it's a close game the Vikings will pull it out. Why? because the 49ers let too many teams off the hook, the 49ers have great players on defense, but they get stuck in that zone too much teams make adjustments and just march right underneath that predictable zone for first downs all the way to the end zone. Why are the 49ers afraid to blitz? not sure, but that predictable zone they play backfired against teams that had no business being that close to them on the scoreboard. If the 49ers win I see a 31-20 score. If they lose Minn 26-23.
