@DoubleUp4Life Good luck on your bets. As a CLV fan, I wonder what the MLB team's new nickname will be.
Thank you!!
My neighbor is a transplant from Ohio , he always thinks he's got inside information on the Buckeyes or other Ohio based teams ...Might have been all the beers we drank a few weeks back but he strongly believes they will be called the SPIDERS as they were from 1887-1899 ( Joined NL in 1889 , I had NO idea )
I'm trying to get my local to post lines , but his lines guys said several bettors were looking to make large bets on GREAT LAKERS ( Can't see that happening) , so it's currently off the board .
BEST OF HEALTH, HAPPINESS,WEALTH, BLESSINGS and LUCK TO ALL !!

I certainly prefer "Spiders" to "Great Lakers." The former should produce a striking logo; of course almost anything is more interesting than an orange helmet.

Hey Guys, Check out wkyc.com and the article. They have unis already designed and working on the merch lol. If you google "cleveland spiders" the link should be first or second. Pretty cool stuff I must say (as a Yankees fan lol). Cheers
Thanks for that link, DB51. Out of the six names in WKYC's poll, the #1 choice would also be mine - Spiders. Rockers was second, but if I am thinking about baseball, the LAST thing I want popping unwanted into my mind is that vile bigot John Rocker. Guardians was third, but I don't want my favorite team named after statues.
I dislike Baseball Club, Municipals and Buckeyes (which might trigger some blowback from Columbus).
My personal choice #1 would be Cougars which would provide a bit of alliteration. Given the choice between a Cougars or Spiders logo, I think Cougars would be the overwhelming fan favorite. Hopefully Washington State wouldn't squawk.

Hey Dogbite...Hey DoubleUp, You're welcome, DBW...I like the alliteration, too...but "Cougars" is kinda sorta out of place in Cleveland (I think). You're welcome, DU4L...yep...so we all lean "Spiders" lol...nice unis for sure, too. Cheers, guys
Lakers is out of place in Los Angeles and so is Jazz in Utah.
However, if the Yankess moved to Tuscaloosa, I think they'd change their nickname.

LMAO Dogbite...for sure there ain't gonna be Yankees there...
Always thought it weird when the Minneapolis Lakers moved to LA that they kept the nickname. I guess we can get used to most nicknames lol.
And even weirder (because it was in my time growing up), I couldn't believe N.O. wouldn't put a hold on "Jazz", or the NBA wouldn't say no, we need that name down the road when we get another team. Utah...HUH???

Utah Utes is kinda awkward sounding, but the Ute people were the native Americans who lived in Utah and Colorado, and the state is named for them, so better than the Utah (LD)Saints, I guess.
And speaking of Cleveland Cleve, here's a couple of remarkable men!!!
Cleveland “Cleve” Abbott (He returned to Alabama to coach the Tuskegee Institute Golden Tigers for 32 years)

Cleveland “Cleve” Eaton – not from Tuscaloosa, but close enough (Fairfield 50 miles)

Upon further reflection, I prefer CLV's baseball team to adopt "Cougars." The NFL Washington Cougars would sound like a weird hybrid of Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars.
