@Raiders22 I disagree .. look at jalen hurts and the Philly O this year. Losing steiken to Indy has really hurt their offense this year. They looked horrible last night.
Sure, injuries hurt a team. But the great QBs and staffs make adjustments. Hurts is not at that level, yet. Look at some of his play the last 2-3 weeks. I think he has 1 TD pass in 3 games.
Then look at the last two drives last night -- awful. Why were they throwing deep into coverage when they basically needed 15 yards.
But the QB level of play will drop. But the great ones still perform better in all conditions.

For example, their BB% on all plays is middle of the pack at 2.982%. For reference, on either side of them are the Vikings and Rams. They are far from the NYG, TEN, and NYJ at 3.9-4.2%. They are far away from MIA and BUF and DAL at 2.1-2.5%.
They are only 10th in holds with 11.
For sure, their run blocking is better than their pass blocking.
But their overall passing game is 28th. That is largely due to QB play. When you have a QB that is not confident and is unsure of where to go with the ball and does not do check downs correctly or holds onto the ball too long or rolls out for no reason, etc. -- all of that puts undue stress on an O-Line.
Big Ben his last 2 years was the fastest QB getting rid of the ball and I think that team is used to that.
I am not saying they cannot improve the line--of course they need to.
They are a team that can use upgrades everywhere -- but especially at the QB position. Whether they need to develop him better or go in another direction is the question.
I just do not think Tomlin is the problem. BUT I admit a LOT of folks think that he is.

Wow.. As a lifelong fan (hate to admit it I was in the stands for the Franco catch).. I could not disagree more. TOMLIN is the heart of the problem.. Where to start.. The worst coach in the NFL on challenges like 23%.. Went two years not winning one.. Rooney finally made him put a guy in the upper box to help.. Of course he still goes by his "gut".. He still sucks.. In game adjustments.. None... Halftime adjustments none.. Timeouts once again one of the worst in the NFL.. Playoff record horrid.. His Coaching tree..... Ran out of town the only two good coaches he ever had because they were not "Tomlin yes men" and were a future threat to his job.. (Arians & Labeau).. In game decisions on going for it or kicking a FG down 14 or more late in games priceless that's if he does not punt it .. NO BEN ... NO TOMLIN... Rode Ben into a nice security job.. Once Ben has lost his "A" game we were average at best.. Players always ran the team now and then ( after AB left it was found out in later years during camp he was allowed to stay off campus and come in at 6:00 am while his teammates slept in dorm rooms).. NO BEN ...NO MIKE.. Mike is good for his high school quips.. That is all.. When he fired Leabu and took over as lead dog on defense calls we went from one of the best to one of the worst in a year with the same players... Thank God hiis time is coming to an end and we can start what he tore down.. IMO most overrated coach in NFL history.. Nobody gets less from more then Mike Tomlin.. Had the highest paid defense in the NFL last year we sucked.. He is the man behind the defense the other coaches strictly "yes man"..

I forgot if there is a worse clock management coach in the NFL ... For those fans of those team's my condolences.. ....This is where Mike truly shines as a idiot..

But I think their defense is still one of the best in the league. It is solid in all three phases to me. Pass Rush, Pass defense and Run defense are all pretty solid.

I liked Lebeau and did not like to see him go.

@ArtSchlichterJr I do not put much stock in challenges -- so many are snap decisions coming from guys in the booth. But it is still valid. If you are lifelong fan -- I defer to you on the other things. But my question is do you really think a 'better' coach could overcome the deficiencies in the QB and lack of personnel at other positions? What coach do you think would seriously be better that would come there? Look at Belichick without Brady. Look at Peyton without Brees. Is Reid or Carroll coming there at their age? A consistent coach -- even if mediocre by Steeler standards -- is better than getting some up-and-coming young guy that most likely will not pan out. Look at how quickly Staley got turned on and others -- look at McVay, if they do not finish well. I get the fan's frustration there -- but at least PIT tries to keep a coach, when so many teams just give them a 2-3 year tryout. What coaches really have experience developing a young QB that are available?
Agree need a QB in the NFL now... But as a coach you need to put your players in the best position to prosper.. The hiring of Canada and keeping him for so long was a travesty .. Rooney finally stepped in and fired him not Tomlin.. Hard to judge when the other team is calling out your plays.. More then one team afterwards claimed they knew where players would be after looking at their formation.. But with many chances with a good Ben and a good team this team lost.. Have been beaten numerous times in playoffs by substandard QB's ..ie Tebow ect.. and teams.. Like Mike as a spoke person...funny...witty... but as a coach..NADA..

As to who is out there ... Well before Tomlin was hired I could have given you 50 attempts at who would replace Cowher and Tomlin probably would have not been on that list. . ..Pitt has to be a futures coach wet dream with their track record in keeping coaches.. My pick ....The head coach at Arizona.. We need a young new blood type.. Not a old punt on 4th and 1 coach from the 50 yd line.. Its stale here in the Burgh and its just bad football to even watch.. Unwatchable... really..

Thru 12 games Pickett had 6 tds lol and somehow Pitt was 7-5. Even Mac jones had 10 tds in 11 games what was his record 2-9. Maybe it wasn’t coaching and Pickett has a much better record than jones because pitt has a better defense. Nope pats defense ranks 8th in the league and holds opponents to 50 yds less a game than Pitt’s defense. You’ll be hard pressed to find qbs in the last 40 yrs who only had 6 tds through 12 starts and if you find them it’s guaranteed those teams had losing records in those 12 games. In comes trubisky who has stunk out the joint prob worse than pickett and is winless but somehow that’s tomlin’s fault’who has over achieved for a notoriously cheap organization.

Steelers won 5 SB with their cheap organization before Tomlin.. Hes has won one 1 in 17 years.. TY Ben.. That's not over achieving here in the Burgh.. Maybe in places like Buffalo but not here.. FYI Pickett was Tomlins choice had others.. FYI they spend to the cap limit EVERY YEAR TOMLLIN has been here.. NO BEN.. NO TOMLIN..

Many hoping its this year.. If Pitt loses the last 3 projected to pick 10th.. Good trade up spot for a possible QB pick... For me its Daniels or bust.. .... Crazy stat... The Steelers have not had a pick in the top five draft picks in FIFTY THREE YEARS.... Last top 5 was Terry Bradshaw ....1970 ... Number 1... Trade Tomlin for a first rounder bundled it up with 10th pick and get a QB1...

There's almost as many Tomlin apologists as there are people that voted for Biden yet can't stand the man....and many are the same people.....
Bottom line..if the formerly proud Steelers franchise ever wants to win a title again..this man needs to be removed

"Would any fans of the Eagles, 49ers, Cowboys, Chiefs, Bills, think it was a good 2023 year if your team doesn't win a playoff game?"
My Cowboys haven't won, or even been to a Super Bowl in close to 30 years. We've won few playoff games in that time. We'll still tell you it's our year, every year. Niners fans strut like peacocks when their team is flying high and when they inevitably lose they're like, "The Giants should look good this year..." The Chiefs have had much success recently, and in the old days, but before said recent success hadn't won it all in like 50 years. And they were mediocre to bad in most of those years. Still had some of the best fans in sports. The Bills have never won it. They lost 4 in a very small window. That should've broken that fan base. It didn't. The Eagles only recently won their first Super Bowl. And their fans eat literal horse turds when their team wins anything, or even just doesn't lose that badly.
I agree it's time for a reset in western Pennsylvania but you sound like a spoiled crybaby and you know nothing of these other fan bases.

Not really a fan of any team now except for the one I have money on.
I am related to lifelong fans of the Steelers and they are unified in their belief that Tomlin's time as head coach is over.
In spite of huge flaws in his 'in game' judgment and so many other deficiencies, what irks me is Tomlin gets a pass from mainstream sports' media and he is not held accountable. NEVER!!!
I speculate that you have certain biases that propel you to gloss Tomlin's many lapses in judgment which reflect badly on the team.
'Spoiled crybaby' for me, okay and then how about 'clueless imbecile' for you?

Show me where I glossed over Tomlin's lapses in judgement or defended him in anyway. I'll wait.

Because you directed your comments to fanbases only instead of the main topic on here which is does Tomlin merit more time to turn the franchise around. You used the word reset, does that mean a change in head coach. If so, why not state it?
