I'm currently 33-19 in my annual handicapping contest. And I'm only in 3rd Place, so yes, others are winning.
Over time, you should have just as many wins against the bookie as you do losses. (However, that's not quite good enough, as we all know, because we have to win approx 53% of the games to beat the juice.)

I am actually winning with the NFL but I found it is getting harder and harder. And I am not betting BIG like I used to because I see there are too much risks with what happening now.

I like to go against the garbage teams. Along the way I figured I am trying to win w my garbage team against the garbage team I perceived was a garbage team. If that makes sense.
These durn 7 point underdogs are winning the games straight up. I convinced myself Sunday after TN won that its going to switch back to faves. It has not switched back. Yet.

Betting on sports is at an all time high with the legalization of it in most states. Money is coming in from everywhere from ANYONE.
The books don't have to do shit, they accept all bets, adjust lines, literally mitigating while they sleep.
And they collect that juice. It's a do nothing business.
As to the OP's saying it's "weird" this year, yea it's different. I think it's because of the popularity of sports betting. Who's good at it? Is their $ even budging lines at all? Do the books care?(I don't think they do).
Anyone else notice this year how injuries pretty much haven't meant shit to the level of play on the field? That's one thing I've noticed. Especially with quarterbacks(minus Rodgers).
