Brady never choked like Manning did tonight. Even with the Giant's loss, he marched down the field what appeared to be the winning TD. Can't blame the Samuel drop/Meriweather drop/DL missed sack/helmet catch on him.

It might not be fair but that one throw cements Manning's legacy.

So Brady's supporters need Manning and the Colts to lose the SB before they can come out of the woods to knock on Manning.  Personally I don't like Manning but do I need to remind you guys that Brady also choked big time in the playoff this year, at home if I may add, against the same team that Manning and the Colts beat and covered the spread

This is too funny.  Tom Brady is the King, LOL.  In his first Super Bowl, the one where the Raiders should have been there instead,  "he" put up 20 pts (including the first 7 by the defense), 24 vs. Philly, 32 vs Carolina and a whopping 14 against the Giants when he had the greatest offense of all time?  This thread is laughable.

FYI - Matt Cassell went 11-4 with the team that Brady carries singlehandedly on his back every year.  Yes, they were 11-5, but you can't expect even a top level QB like Matt Cassell to come in cold and win a game after Tommy Boy goes down with an injury.  Matt Cassell.....hmmm....he was a good one......what ever happened to him I wonder.

I am one of the many Brady supporters and as a supporter we didn't need a Manning loss to further prove that Brady is still the modern day NFL QB king.  BUT... I think that they guys that were on the fence about Brady and Manning needed to see this, and maybe Manning followers needed to know if Manning could attain the level of greatness that Brady has already achieved.  Talks have been reduced to whispers, and at least for another year Manning fans are left to wonder.

I am from Boston...spent 30 years there.  I still follow all 4 Boston teams.  Threads like this one are embarassing to Boston and legit sports fans.

Take the Boston glasses off and look at this objectively for once in your life.  Peyton and Brady will be 1st ballot hall of famers...PERIOD.  They will be in the top 5 best NFL QB conversation during our lifetime.  Their differences are miniscule.  Their leadership, attention to detail, and ability to read and disect defenses is the best around.  Stop the hate and enjoy these legends.

 

I'm not a Brady supporter. Hell I rip on my brother all the time being a Pats fan but come on.. wasnt he playing with fucked up ribs among other things during that Baltimore game. If he came out more publicly about it everyone would be blah blah Tom Brady is a whiner hes already making excuses. I can tell you I have played football with bruised ribs and its difficult to breathe let alone play football so partially why im defending him there. Yea, never like in that 06 AFC championship game where they blew a 21-3 lead and he threw a pick with a minute left when he had a shot to tie it...right after Manning marched them down the field for a game winning TD...say what you want I take Manning on my team every day of the year in any situation.

You have to realize that most of a QB's is success is attributed to the people around him. There are no easy comparisons. In their 1st SB wins, Brady had 145 yards and Big Ben was 9 of 21. Those were defensive victories.

If Garcon catches that crossing pattern on 3rd down or Samuel catched that INT, the legacy of Brady and Manning is that much greater based on something they had no control over.

In the SB's vs Carolina and St Louis. Brady had the ball in a tied game and got his team into FG range. When Brady had to come back against the Colts in the AFC Championship, he folded like a tent, or hour about vs the dolphins this season with 2 minutes left, the bitch threw a pick, or in the playoffs vs Baltimore he couldnt complete a pass for fuck sakes. Brady is very clutch


Peyton was clutch all season and the 2 playoff games, maybe if he had a defense to clean up some of his mistakes or help the guy out, people wouldn't consider him a choker. People only see one side of the ball and blame him, its sad.

Everyone does realize that being the best QB in a given year does not mean you are the most talented. It's all about who's in the best situation. Manning has worked with the same OC his entire career, they have assembled a great pass blocking OL, 2 quick rb's who compliment the passing game, and most importantly, avoided major injuries.

If Moore retires or Clark and Wayne go down on IR next year, Manning could very well have a Brady like season and we'll have hear how much he sucks. These guys are very talented but they're are not gods. There's a lot that goes into the equation.

 

I mean, if you're in the rest place at the right time, even someone like Eli can win a Super Bowl.
