The only thing Tony Romo did right this season was to let Jessica Simpson move into his house.

got to win some meaningful games to enter into that category.  Top rated QB a couple of weeks ago means nothing (in terms of top QBs) if you can not win the important games.  Shit he looked HORRIBLE tonight.  But so did the defense.

He chokes in the big games.Lets see if he can actually win a playoff game in his career.He's gotta be one of the most overrated players in the NFL

As an impartial Rams fan, this is not Romo's fault.  The play calling is horrible, TO is a nightmare (wish he was still a Niner) and their division is brutal.  Roll Bum's son!

Matt Cassel or Romo? I know it wont happen...but I am sick of Romo's act...and T.O.'s....As a big Cowboys fan I would love a change of scenery...cuddios to Cassel for drawing one huge pay check next year tho!

Here's Tony Romo's problem:

He's Brett Favre without a Mike Holmgren.

Tony has talent. That much is clear. But he was "unleashed" too soon. Bill Parcells kept him on a leash and tried to protect him with a run-oriented offense.

When Bill left (in part, I believe because Jerry Jones insisted on signing T.O., which signified a change in offensive philosophy for the Cowboys), Tony Romo was given the reigns of the offense, courtesy of Jason Garrett.

Jason Garrett was a Wonder Boy for the first year. But he's too young, and I don't think he has the discipline or the experience and coaching mindset to reign Romo in. So he lets Romo fling it or allows Romo to "check out" of run plays. As a result, Romo finds himself in too many situations where he's making mistakes. He's not really learning to be patient running an offense and relying on others to make plays instead of his arm.

Parcells would chew Romo out for doing something like that, but I doubt Garrett or even Wade Phillips has it in them to do so.

So Romo develops, but with all the bad habits that a Mike Holmgren or Bill Parcells might work out of him.

Quite frankly, I don't see it changing any time soon. Because Jerry Jones loves to meddle, I doubt the Cowboys hire a coach (like Bill Cowher or Marty Schottenheimer) who will demand that the players play his way or else.

Jones will hire these yes-men coaches and coordinators who allow Romo to play foot-loose and fancy and never - through the strength of their personality and the authority of their position - challenge him or get in his ear (yelling) that he can't be making dumb plays. I doubt Jason Garrett even knows what it means to protect Romo with a running game, that he should have done in Pittsburgh.

The wind is blowing. Romo is sailing balls high. Choice is doing pretty good in the running game. And what does Garrett do? He either continues to call passing plays or he allows Romo to "check down" to passing plays.

And I won't get into the immensely stupid penalties the Cowboys make and the dumb plays that are so elementary it amazes you that grown men make them.

Lining up in the neutral zone has got to be one of the dumbest plays a professional athlete could make. How do you not look at the line of scrimmage and know that you're over the line without making an attempt to get back?

How do you not get away from a punted ball allowing the ball to hit you in the leg?

You learn that stuff playing Pop Warner football. The Cowboys are a stupid, stupid team

I really think Romo can play and can win.  I think he was really banged up towards the end of the season, and we just did not know the extent of his injuries.

Aaron Rodgers will fly up that list. He's a straight stud when hes throwing the ball, and he's basically a rookie.

Im a huge GB fan, and Im not completely sold on Rodgers.  I'll still give him 1 more year, or 2 more years if he plays well but they still lose.  He played pretty good.....was not clutch at all.....and the defense played like shit.

Rodgers a rookie?   LMAOF.  He's been in the system and off-season for 3 consecutive years.   You might as well call MATT CASSELL a rookie.   Very similar situation here.

I also think Romo is catching a lof of flack.  His TEAM did not play well, and they had a mediocre to bad season.  Too much credit/too much blame argument here.

What about the Packers?   Remember they were 13-3 last season and were 3 points in Overtime away from playing in the Super Bowl.  Yet Rodgers is somehow massively better than Romo?   

Stop the knee-jerk reactions and clear your mind so you don't go on tilt this Sunday.
