@Danny9999 No one is ever happy ending the season on a loss.
Actually you're dead wrong.
They don't mind not abusing their bodies for another week. They still get paid.
Tim Green said so in his book.

I really don't believe any current defense could have slowed either team down. Maybe the 85 Bears, one of the great SF defenses in the 80's, Seahawks 2014 defense when they beat Denver in the Superbowl, but no defense out there now.

I'm sure they aren't happy right now especially considering if they pull that game out, they probably win the Superbowl. But 13 seconds left, you have to get a stop. Even if it's Mahomes.
Yes the OT rules kind of suck in a game like this. But the team that wins flip only wins 50% of the time. There is no other alternative that keeps it as even. If you give both teams the ball, team getting the ball second wins game probably 65% of the time. Not fair either.
Yes the Bills are unhappy now. But by next week, they will realize it was a great season, Josh Allen is great QB, and next year is very promising.

@mrusso
Agreed my friend but that game should of never been decided in OT if McDermott and his coaching did they’re damn jobs!
It was the Bills coaching staff that really screwed up, after the Bills TD, they should of kicked it short of the 20 yard line so the Chiefs would of run the clock and it would of never went into OT.
It was 13 seconds to victory, terrible clock management by McDermott, his special teams coach along with the defensive coordinator Leslie Frasier. They’re all to blame for this monumental collapse!
I’ve supported this team for 51 years, through all the ups and downs from 4 consecutive Super Bowl losses to the Music City Miracle, waiting for over 25 years to get Jim Kelly’s predecessor at quarterback and I can tell you this game made me sick to my stomach and Bills ownership need to make a decision in the offseason on McDermott’s coaching staff. Personally they should all be fired for incompetence!!

13 seconds left, I agree with. There will be a rule change about OT, Social Media blowing up as is most of the football world, whether you agree or not. And by next season, at least for the playoffs. The Bills had a good season, only one team will have a great season.

This, exactly. Amazing game but that was inexcusable by the coaching staff.

Google says 52.7% of the time, the coin toss winner wins game. If there was a setup to get it closer to 50/50, the NFL would use it. Giving both teams the ball, is a huge advantage to the team getting the ball last.

@CanadaCup
I feel your pain brutha', there were questionable coaching strategies. Nothing I say or anyone else will make it ok. It was a great, competitive game, just sorry the Bills came up a hair short.

I don't think so. They can't replace it unless they have something better. You ignore the massive advantage given to the second team in your both teams get the ball scenario.

@mrusso
If you’re ahead by 3 with 13 seconds left and you can’t close that out then so be it. Don’t care to see that defense in the next round anyway no matter how crappy of a way it is to lose. That’s unbelievably bad by buffalo

The game is for the people, the fans, without them, there is no game. And the fans have been speaking. Tonight, "the straw that broke the camel's back."

In 2019 a team bought a proposal to the owners meeting that proposed each team get the ball atleast once in overtime. the proposal was voted down.
That team was the Kansas Chiefs

I doubt too many Chiefs fans are complaining. I agree that it sucks it comes down to a coin flip but this isn't the first time people have complained about it. Fact is, no one has come up with a better ( fairer) alternative. Back in the day, when it was first score wins, the coin flip winner won 61% of the time. Now with the addition of a field goal not winning the game automatically, it's down to 52.7% per Google. About as fair as your gonna get. You come up with a better alternative and sell it to the NFL. But trust me, both teams get the ball is not near as fair. You think both teams get the ball hasn't been considered ??? I'm saying second team to get ball wins at least 65%. You can't change something just because, you need a better option. For a game where both offenses were dominant, the coin flip is terrible and had buffalo won coin flip I fully believe they score a TD and win. But for the most part, the current way is very good.
You could have the team getting the ball automatically start at their own 2 yard line. The team that wins flip decides if they want to take it from there or defend from there. Wouldn't have changed anything tonight though.

Does not matter what team and what situation, if you can't stop a team from scoring a TD for a given drive you don't deserve to win. Keep in mind that if the team got the ball first convert only a FG, you can use all 4 downs to tie or to win the game the next time you get the ball.
Everyone is overlooked the fact that the defense is extremely bad for both teams. It is an exciting game because of the lead changes and how both teams could cover the spread but it is not a great game overall.

Yes that's true. The team getting the ball second gets to use all 4 downs, knows if they need FG or must go for TD. Pretty much automatically wins with a quick TO or 3 and out. All sorts of advantages handed to second team. That is a horrifying option. If it were a decent option, it obviously would have been used from day 1

In the past, team tend to defer the ball and choose to kick to the other team in OT, especially the Ravens ... but not anymore.

Couldn't agree more with Canada cups comment Sean McDermott and special team coaches f****** up on the play should have kicked the ball on the ground run time off the clock and then they give them the middle of the field with three timeouts total stupidity And thirdly the league needs to change that rule both teams need to have a possession in playoff overtime crazy that the team that wins the coin toss can finish the game and you're absolutely right Russo this was an unbelievable game and Brady almost did it again was another one to his football legendary quarterback

Frazier is surrounded by a lot of talent, but doesn't know how to use it. Edmunds, who runs a 4.5 40 at 250 lbs+ always looks lost or one step away from making a play. He had the highest pressure rate out of all Bills' pass rushers this season, but they never send him. A blitz or 2 earlier might have changed things, but no squib and guarding the sidelines when chiefs had all 3 timeouts made no sense. Frazier gotta go
