If you want to talk football, I'd be happy to correspond but from what I've gathered from your posts thus far, our correspondence will be relatively short. 

Manuel is the better qb here and i am sure he will want to prove that to his team he is better than the former. I think the Bills will be hungry to bounce back on this one.

Thanks for the post as well as talking a little football, 2TP. I have to disagree in the sense that I don't think it's a matter of keeping Brees on the sideline as much as Dallas needs to exploit the Saints weakness in pass coverage. The Saints are giving up 289 yds/gm which is surprising considering their strength of schedule. But, then again, I've never really held a lot of stock regarding the strength of schedule and common opponents as a statistical influence in the NFL. The theme, "Any given Sunday" applies. In any case, we've certainly come to realize, after a decade, what an enigma Tony Romo has been. Teams that apply pressure usually have success against the Cowboys because as Tony goes, the Cowboys go. This Sunday, I believe Romo will have time in the pocket as the Saints have absolutely no pass rush. But, it's not the Cowboys O vs Saints D that will reflect the cover.min my opinion, I believe the cover comes down to the Cowboys containing Bree's and the passing attack. Ahhh,  The irony of taking a bet based on the Cowboys defense vs a "potent" Saints passing attack. I believe it can be done based on the line match ups. Brees has had no time in the pocket through three weeks and their rushing attack has been substandard without the presence of Sproles to the eagles and Ingram, injury.  And as for the Saints receivers? Where the fukk did they go? Their deep threat is Colston who must be close to 50 by now. Ok, you have Jimmy Graham. So you hit that Fukker and don't let him off the line or double team him. Amazing things can happen when the spy doesn't have to play the run. The Cowboys defense will find a way to slow the Saints offense and Im confident they wont be able to consistently answer the Cowboys drives which will consist of a balanced attack. 

Wow so you think fitz and texans will put up 31 on buffalo and blow them out? Buffalo has face 2 great qb's and passing attacks (Bears & Chargers) And one mediocre with Miami. Fitz and the Texans wil be the weakest offense so far. Texans strength is in their defense but proved they can get whacked too  at the hands the hands of the Giants. Not seeing your logic here. This should be a close hard fought game.

Thanks for the post, Casper. "billsbeedhelp" and you seem to like the Bills and, believe it or not, Im pulling for this team through the season as well. However, as you know, capping these games are about matchups and I'm not as critical regarding Fitzpatrick ' s play as the next. In most cases, it's all about the system. Fitz doesn't have the athletic ability that most qb's have but he's efficient and he's an intelligent qb who understands defensive coverages. Don't get me wrong, I don't get excited putting my money on Fitz every week but, again, I think he fits the Houston system well. Houston has a solid defense that keeps him in the game so he's not needing to be the game changer while throwing for 300 yds/gm. He has a solid rushing attack behind him and a decent offensive line along with one of the better sets of receivers in the league. All of these intangibles should allow him to be successful in the short term. As for the matchup, Manuel hasn't shown me anything. He's still one of the more raw qb's in the league and he hasn't learned the art of reading the defense with precision. In the games I've watched, he's made poor decisions. I cant stand having to back a team that has a qb who can't put the game on his shoulders to win. Manuel is one of those qbs. I'd the Bills are successful with the run, it allows the Bills and any other team, for that matter, to have success through the air. However, Houston has been stingy thus far against the run and for the Bills to have any chance to cover. They need to run the ball. I'm betting on the Houston defense this week. I think Houston comes up with a few more stops than the Bills D and the Bills will be forced into throwing. Manuel has thrown the least amount of passes in the NFL through 3 weeks for a couple of obvious reasons. He still has difficulty reading coverages and he's poor on 3rd down conversions. Though Fitz isn't Tom Brady, I'll take the higher IQ in this lower scoring affair.

This is where it's important to have the pulse of your team (know their mindset going into this game, what they expect of themselves for this game and the season, etc). Of course, this is easier said than done, though I'm sure there are those who, having followed this closely, can tell us more in this regard.

You bring up a great topic for discussion. I don't understand why fellas use the "letdown" angle as such a heavy influence in the NFL. There's only 16 games. These teams prepare hard week to week and , in most cases, they have an entire week to prepare. Yes, some teams have to deal with short weeks on an occasion but, in general, these teams are ready to play. Hasn't anyone ever talked with an ex baller? Travel and fatigue might be an issue at times but it's not like these guys are taking a week off on the field.

You are right, AMD, this needs to be discussed more. First, people often use the concept of a "letdown" as a catch all to explain why a team/athlete will not (or did not) perform at the highest level or meet its potential without considering the specific circumstances of the case/performance in question. A team/athlete looking ahead, a team looking behind, a team coming off a big win or win streak, a team thats tired, etc, etc are often lumped together under the category of a letdown. Second, I think that letdowns are more frequent in sports with long seasons but they can/do occur in football in special situations. The Lions beating their rival GB might be a cause for a letdown (under certain circumstances, e.g. if they had lost to the Pack several times in a row, or if the Pack were the top NFC team and it was later in the season, or if the Lions had just returned from a long road trip only to have to travel again, etc) but I'm not sure if it applies here, this early in the season.
