May want to rethink the SD play...Verrett has partially torn ACL, out for season. Another devastating blow for them...can't believe the injury luck they are having two years in a row now. Time for a new trainer maybe, ha.

Unbelievable how one team gets hurt so much. Addae is out w/ a concussion, Flowers questionable w/ a concussion...this secondary is ravaged. They also lost Taeo. And that's just on the defensive side.

Personally, I think this is 2.5
points too high and I would have played it at 17. Cardinals are 1-3 yes,
but they still have a good defense. The reason they are 1-3 is more
about facing two good defenses (NE, LA) with
Palmer’s arm declining and a terrible spot, playing at BUF in Rex
Ryan’s Super Bowl. This is an all in game for ARI and with Bowman out,
they are probably going to pound the rock a lot more. Zeke had awfully
huge running lanes after Bowman went out. More
running means less opportunities for SF. SF offense is TERRIBLE. They
scored more than 19.5 in two games so far. Against the Rams they got 7
first downs alone by penalty and the Rams weren’t able to do anything on
offense. Rams still held the Niners to 4.2
yards per play which would rank dead-last in the league-wide table. At
Carolina, SF scored 13 points off drive starts at CAR’s 22, 17 and
1-yard lines. Those weren’t average situations, we always have to cap a
team’s performance to average standards, because
we want to eliminate random effects as far as we can. The Niners won’t
score many points if they get an average drive start: they rank 31st in yards/drive and 29th
in drive success rate. Their slightly below average pts/drive rate of
1.78 tells you they live off short fields to get anything going. The
Cardinals defense is good and Chip Kelly has an history of struggling
against good defenses. He got shut down by those defenses in the past
such as Stanford, SF (under Harbaugh), Seattle.
Gabbert isn’t a starting caliber QB and he will struggle mightily again
vs. he Cardinals who have their season on the line. Would be shocked to
see the Niners scoring 17 or more.
BAL -4 -110
Made this line a -4 for Ravens
on a neutral field. The Redskins are complete trash. They played 3 of
their first 4 at home, barely won at New York and won late vs the worst
team in the league talent-wise. In fact, Giants
outgained the Skins by 1.6 yards per play and the Browns had a lead
going into the 4th quarter. Sample size is just 4, but the
Skins offense ranks #11 in total DVOA after playing defenses ranked #18,
#23, #21 & #25. The Ravens rank 4th
and they have the best run defense so far. They didn’t play a tough
schedule either, but their performances are stellar. They gave up 14
points to OAK on drives of 29 and 7 yards. They rank 1st in yds/drive and 4th
in drive success rate.
Unlike Cleveland, Ravens will be able to shut down the run game and put
the QB with the worst cost-benefit ratio in the NFL (after Assweiler)
into difficult passing situations. Kirk Cousins is just awful, he
consistently over- and underthrows his receivers.
They saved him a lot last week. I truly expect Cousins to throw 2-3
picks in this game. The Ravens offense isn’t something to be afraid of,
but with Ronnie Stanley coming back (“good shot”), Flacco should have
more time this week. Also I expect their running
game to go off on a terrible Redskins run defense. Seeing this game as a
27-13 kind of game in favor of Baltimore.
GB O47.5 -110
This game should fly into the
50s. Both teams have shown some really good run defense but neither can
effectively run the ball on the offensive side. I expect this to be a
game with a lot of passes with GB coming out
to set the tone and Giants trying to keep hanging on. Only way for both
teams to score is through the air and I think we will see a lot of
scores.

How do you think Jameis does against the Panthers D on MNF this week, Suuma?
If Derek Anderson plays and the line opens around -3ish, I am going to play the Panthers. If Cam Newton plays, I prefer the over. Jameis has some serious decision-making problems, he is currently blacklisted for me. TB WRs vs. CAR's CBs is a good mismatch though that's why I like the over with Cam playing.

NO WAY am i walking into sucker bet eagles open spread was 2 1/2
after a thrashinjg of the Steelers 34- 3 what???
so now on the road you think that line represents eagles at home would be a TD favorite over the LIONS.
LET me open your eyes fast guys Eagles were a 3 point dog at home they were selected that line because the odds makers seen eagles havent beaten anybody really playoff caliber type teams
Browns who hung with eagles for 3 and 1/4 quaters who blew up in 4th quater IT was a 3 point game that eagles were looking very bleak in .
Then RG 3 got knocked out and Browns got smeared
OK now birds go on road vs not so good bears team anymore who were winless....
GET a clue quick this Lions team aint NO where as bad as the Browns and I see Eagles going 3-1 this week because every sqaure only sees eagles last blow out win 34-3 domination at home
atypical knee jerk reaction oooooo they are rested now and more prepared and scahwrtz knows his former team etc.... blah blah blah ..
Well HE aint the haed coach here that HC returning to his former team thing only works IF he his HC of new team.
Sure as chit didnt work with two former HC Vs Bears when lovie smith went back after two years removed and Former Vikes HC Frazier ran the defense of TB with that numb nuts QB they had and bunch of losers on roster.
Bears smacked them around like the bad team they have been past 8 years ever since Gruden left them a shambles.
THE Tampa TWO days are gone the defense they once had is gone.
and there is NOT many house hold names on TB anymore.
LIONS on The ML for me +120
If you like lions so much create your own thread . Souma knows his NFL and spots .

No matter how I look at it the Eagles pick is so square it is almost turning into a rectangle play. Going the other way on this one. Lions will win SU.

Joined you on the 9ers under 19.5...brutal PI call on that 4th down in the EZ that allowed them to go over. Honey Badger didn't even touch Kerley, pathetic.
Get 'em Sunday!

Yeah brutal, but that happens and will even out in the long run.
But I'd rather lose a game this way than being completely off.
BOL this week!

This was more of a question about jameis than the Bucs as a whole. Jameis laid eggs against Arizona and Denver, the #1 and #2 team for sacks so far. I think jameis finds success against Carolinas suspect pass rush and secondary. This being a must win game for carolina does concern me some though.
Thanks for the insight, it's appreciated.

Teams losing at home last week and now on road to a division rival are 5-2 ATS, 7-0 OVER so far this year........in the long-term, teams in this situation (San Diego) have been 26-13 ATS in week 5.

Don't you think when a depleted Charger team is playing Oakland on Sunday its not in their heads they play Denver in 4 days ? it's Oakland or nothing in this game ,\
The other game i would never put money on Atlanta i just couldn't trust Atlanta
the under is probably good unless Denver gets defensive TDS and a bunch of short fields
if Denver gets a big lead they take out starters on defense and Atlanta gets a bunch of garbage points,
Just like what happened in the Miami Patriots game Patriots up 33-3 they stoped playing defense
I'm thinking you should put this knowledge on your handicapping site for those poor ignorant fools that don't have the insight or inside information and contacts that you apparently have. We are very fortunate that you have chosen us here at Covers Forum to share this wealth of interpretative analysis, because God knows very few of us here know which way to turn in these uncertain times. And to think that you're giving these pearls of insight to us freely, when you certainly could be charging large fees for this high level of insider information makes me proud to be an American and grateful that philanthropic men like you are there for us when we need you. God bless you and God bless the USA, where we are all winners! Those who don't listen to you only have themselves to blame right!!?
