bc you'd have to be an idiot to have picked TEN...i first saw that line alst monday and was like WTF?! Quite possibily the easiest bet i've made this entire nfl season.
But anyway, i like miami in this game. LAst two games are at home, and they are def. in the playoff hunt (as is Houston but miami has a way better shot, and i think the players know if they can get a little hlp here and there, then they cansneak into the playoffs.
My take is Miami -1

Though neither of them are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, two teams hanging on by a thread meet in South Florida as the Houston Texans visit the Miami Dolphins.
Not many expected the Dolphins to follow up last year's 11-5 season and AFC East division win with a back to back championship but as a team, Miami definitely did. It's year two of the Bill Parcells era in Miami and we can see just a huge difference from where this team was two years ago. Though this season more than likely won't end up with a Super Bowl win, there is a lot of hope that there could be a Lombardi Trophy in Miami's future. The reality of it is, the Dolphins were hit extremely hard by the injury bug this year and playing the first place schedule didn't help matters any. It seems like the Dolphins have suffered season ending injuries on nearly a weekly basis yet the team still plays hard and is competitive every week. Last week's loss to Tennessee was crippling and very disappointing as Miami got the game to overtime but then turned the ball over and allowed the Titans to get the game winning field goal. Miami's biggest problem is that they have given up more big plays than nearly any other team in the NFL. Miami is 25th in big plays allowed and those big plays will probably mean the difference between them participating in the post season and them watching the playoffs from home.
Hopes were high in Houston this season for the Texans to make their first playoff appearance in team history but it doesn't look like it will come to pass. The Texans have been banged up but that really hasn't been the issue, the Texans simply haven't converted on opportunities and at times their defense has just let them down. Houston has won two straight but both of those games were against lesser teams, Seattle and St. Louis. It was really the four game losing streak that preceded those wins that will prove to be the Texans undoing. The Texans are a team that appears to be headed in the right direction but it looks like they will have to wait at least another year to make the franchises first playoff appearance.
Miami has covered in four of their last five games overall and seven of their last eight against AFC teams. Houston is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven as a road underdog and just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall.
This is going to be a good game but Miami's suffocating style and pound the ball offense with Ricky Williams should key Houston off the field as Parcells and Sporano should be able to exploit Houston's defensive deficiencies. This could easily be a playoff match up next season.
Pick: Miami Dolphins -3
