"Why are Cowboys -3?" That looks like an easy answer from where I'm sitting. I watched both Niners game and Cowboys game last weekend. What I got out of it is: 1. Cowboys were impressive vs a good Jets team until very late in the game. IMO, Dallas gave away a win that was rightfully earned. 2. Niners allowed a very weak Sea Road Team to come back and make a game of it. Take away two special teams plays and who knows if the Niners hold on to the win? Overall, not an impressive performance. 3. Despite Coach Harbaugh's assertions supporting QB Smith, I saw no evidence to overturn my impression that their QB is still a bum. Sure, he always shows flashes of ability but he still makes crucial and seemingly inevitable mistakes. As a Niner fan, I felt Smith was a bust from the beginning, yet somehow, inexplicably he personifies the cliche of "cat with nine lives" by coming back year after fruitless year as the Niner QB. It bugs me as a fan, but of course I love it as a bettor. Going against bad QBs in special situations is a lucrative endeavor. I'll pick this spot here to bet against this QB with an angry Dallas team who embarrassed themselves on prime time with their monumental choke to come into town and even up their record at 1-1 vs a SF team that thanks to the scoreboard looks much better than they are. At the end of the day, do I want the Defense who made the Jets Offense look mundane or the Defense who made the Seattle Offense (on the road) look better than it is? At the end of the day, do I want Tony Romo and Company or Alex Smith and Company deciding my bet's fate? 4. Dallas is simply put, the better of the two teams. Better defense, better offense.
All this aside, the line at -3 will attract good two-way action. It's not too high to scare away Dallas action, and it's just right to attract SF Home Dog action.
IMO, the line is perfect.

My opinion of Alex is just this simple.......good bad good bad good bad. he didnt play stellar last game out vs SEA. So im expecting him to play a lil better vs the cowgirls. This is a rivalry renewed here....

You guys need to stop watching the games, you'll be better off.
Everything is about last week, last week means dick.
I've heard this before stated differently, and I agree.
We seem to have different interpretations however. My interpretation is that last week's Niner 33-17 thumping of Seatle and Dallas' loss mean nothing ("dick"). By watching the games which you seem to discourage ("better off not watching"), I can discern for myself that those results indeed mean nothing to what will happen this week. The results don't illuminate the facts that Dallas is actually pretty good and that the Niners are actually pretty bad. Only by watching does this become evident. Joe Public will be glad to consider last weeks results and conclude that getting the 1-0 team at home vs the 0-1 team and three whole points is the obvious choice. We'll see who gets the money.....
