Meant to say 69 Amazin Mets guess at what happened is my best guess too. Dude was shot in the groin...there aren't too many other reasons for aiming low.
Still, was sad when I heard the news this morning and I hope Sean will R.I.P.
Not saying that he wasn't involved with another mans girl. But he could have been lunging towards his attacker or in some other awkward position when he was shot. Or maybe his attacker only wanted to wound him. After all the attacker didn't harm his girlfriend who was laying at his side.
Rest in peace Sean.

i cant speak for everyone here but i wasnt an angel in my younger days-i would've been considered a no good f-up or a lunatic by most when i was 24 and i could picture people saying the same about me had i been shot back then BUT with that being said,i have become a real man and make everyone i am still in contact with (10 yrs later) very proud of me.ive turned my life around 360 degrees and now have a loving family,2 children and one more on the way.a very succesful career etc.its never too late to turn your life around and the loss of a 24 yr old kid who may have had a troubled past is a sad thing.from what ive read-yes - he was a f-up
but he was turning his life around now that he was getting older and growing up.dont judge lest you want to be judged yourself.i cant stand people like you with your sheltered life and think you are better than someone else because of thier misfortunes.you obviously dont have a clue about life and frankly you are an azzhole for even saying any of this about this kid.maybe one day
you will regret these words and come to grips with how precious life is.very-very few deserve death because of crimes they commit and if he was a rapist or a child molester or killer-then id say you have a valid point but c'mon man-have some respect.
i dont have any regrets about my troubled past because it made me the man i am today.i hope you realize how much of an azzhole

Unacceptable. Another UM Football player was murdered a few miles from Taylor's home just recently. I urge all law abiding citizens of Miami Dade County to legally arm themselves. It is a privilege to all law abiding citizens of Florida. The criminals dont have to be legally licensed to carry firearms but civilians do. The difference is Civilians can legally train themselves in Self Defense with their weapon of choice. REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM. This can happen to anybody. I hear mention that Taylor's death was due to a Vendetta and he may have brought it upon himself. Either way, His murderer may hold a grudge against you for accidently cutting him off in Traffic. Too close for comfort. My deepest condolences to his family. Violence in this community by criminals is on the rise. Protect your homes and families. Get licensed to carry a concealed weapon. When the criminals notice that the civilians are fighting back they may begin to think twice about their exits from a crime scene.

He was victim yes.. but do we know if this was retaliation ?
The thing I find odd is Ricky Williams has never committed a crime or been arrested. Never called out teammates or spit on a teammate like Sean. He battles a disorder. He feels uncomfortable in his own skin. Yet the guys around here look at him worst than the thugs in the nfl. Ricky is smarter and more articulate than 90% of the dudes in the league.

Another talented athlete, that thought the "gangsta" life, was cool.
Trouble in high school.....
Trouble in college........
Trouble in the NFL............
Trouble with the law............
This guy was a hoodlum, who happened to play in the NFL....
Make no mistake about it; he wasn't an "innocent victim"
Last week someone broke into his house, went through his things, and left a knife on his bed.......YOU DON'T THINK THIS WAS A MESSAGE???
Have you ever heard the expression “I’ll shoot your balls off”?”
My guess;
Sean Taylor was dipping his bucket in someone else's well, and the jealous husband/boyfriend came looking for Taylor to end his career (shooting him in the leg) or shoot his balls off........
Just like OJ, this guy associated himself with bums, thugs, and punks, and led a dirty life.
In the end, it caught up with him.
THE BOTTOM LINE METS IS THAT YOU HATE HILLARY CLINTON TOO. I LOVE YOU!

skipped all the posts, like your avatar, but quite honestly you are an idiot!
Sean Taylor was not a thug, he was not in trouble in high school, he went to Guliver prep instead of some crappy dade county school, he held bake sales for the neighbourhood he came from and his father is still a police officer in, he worshiped his grandmother who he had the closest relaltionship with, he never let the rest of the world know him because he did not want to. He took football seriously bcause he realised getting paid to play a kids game was a true honor. Did that hard edge of pscychosis that a nfl hitman needs run into normal life once in a while maybe. Yeah he got into trouble with a guy who stoll his ATV, got a Dui whoopee, and got a host of late hits and dress code fines. Big fucking deal. As far as 24 yr olds go he was far from a thug and certainly far from a kid who deserved to die. Take your self off the soap box and consider when you bet a game and thought of his impact then drive into a bad side of your town with a bunch of thugs who do nothng but gang bang. He may have come from a bad town and had bad friends but of the number of idiot thugs in the nfl he was not one.
and as for yoour dipping in the bucket? Wow you prove aout as dumb as they come, what do you know that no one else does, or were you just posting to boost your stats?

sad. you can't even show some respect for loss of a life. what if that were your brother or father that were popped and people were going on an internet site saying he deserved it, thug, etc . . . dude. if you live in your little internet bubble and never experienced loss of anything but the power connection to your computer - you're a wank. nobody deserves to die over a vendetta. and certainly we're not in a position to determine the kind of life they lived from reading the news. grow up.

At least say your condolenses and RIP and so forth and be done with it. I am not a fan of all of a sudden jumping this mans bandwagon because of this and saying how "I loved this guy" and "I idolized this guy" and how people became so attached to a guy they didn't care about five minutes, five months or five years before he was even shot.
What bothers me the most (and I have been called out all over here for it) is that this is happeneing (including to my family) all over the place, everyday. Where it came to my innocent nephew by a stray bullet, just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. My prayers go to this man and his family, but when you think grimace and somber feelings for this guy, you better give a long, hard thought about kids that range from as young as 12 to 28, 29 etc and their families that face this everyday.
He was a pro and a star at that, so we recognize this. But think about that kid that never got the shot to be something before we ever heard of him/her because of a bullet cutting everything short.
This happens everyday and being apart of one of those situations it puts me on the playing field. I'm not a tree- hugging, peace- loving asshole, but I really think this on- going mess gets worse and worse everyday.
Sad thing is..what can we do about it?
Regardless, I'm not only sending a shoutout to Taylor and his family, but to every other family (that doesn't find stardom on a field/court) that had or has to go through this same situation.
God Bless, and I only hope things can get better, before it has gone too far...if it hasn't already. (Just throws tears to my eyes).
RIP

Man you must be a "thug" to badmouth someone like this.
Does that mean you deserve to be shot, of course not.
Grow up, another man has died show some respect or don't even say anything at all. You didn't know Sean Taylor so who are you to judge him and his life.

No... which means that he shouldn't be killed. If he had killed somebody else, then maybe, but nobody should have died. Sure he was a "thug", but to kill him for that is rediculous. And I have to say that your comment is irrelovent.

I wonder if sean taylor knew his death would spark such contreversy all over the net on all message boards.
But onto the playing without a safety a terrible idea. When Clemente someone who SHOULD be emulated for being the humanitarian he is, died in plane crash doing somethin to help his country did the pirates play without a RF???
People die, none of you knew sean taylor he wasnt your brother, cousin, dad, he was a guy who made a livin playing football. He was taken early but im sure we will still have school on his birthday to quote chris rock. You guys jus want to follow around a guy blindly, because its what you think you need to do. And you say oh its so sad he had a wife and a kid, well till this tragedy i didnt know he had a gf, wife and kid. Seems sean taylor is a better humanitarian in death more than in life.
So leave it as is, people who knew sean let them mourn,
Im a steeler fan and when Ben had his horrific bike accident, if he wouldnt have made it, it wouldnt have affected my life. It would have sucked yes, but i didnt know the guy he was a qb for my team. All players come and go from our teams, but the team lives on.
So people who say his death is bigger than football it really isnt, we watch football because we enjoy it, sorry sean died, but its not gonna affect my nfl watching.
Actually who is thinkin of fadin the skins this weekend
