Because a field goal from the 2 yard line is the equivalent of the old extra point that was connecting at 99%+ so much so that the league pushed it back. Leaving the opponent with no time on the clock to score right back is by far a safer move.
Again stupid to say that a field goal attemp even from the 1 inch yd line is better than a TD that was given to you for free... smh
Except that it's not stupid and you are literally the only person on planet earth that thinks it is.
Give up the 99.5% or whatever chance to win on a walkoff FG vs kick it back to Stafford with a minute to march down the field and score a game winning field goal of their own...
Are you trolling? Seriously. There's a reason the Lions were letting them score, because it was literally their only chance to win. The only chance. Barring an outright miracle from the heavens.

Pretty sure the O/U was rigged... the books made what, a whole 100K on it last night?
Wait a sec... being told the slot machines make that every minute of every day.
As for the FG to win? Do the math. 99% he hits it vs 90% GB’s D stops Stafford with zero timeouts and 30 sec left. Not understanding that is why people don’t ever win money...

in the end, we all agree packers sucks balls, 3-4 Turnovers yesterday night. Many missed red zone opportunities given out to Lions but lions aren’t better, could only FG with those opportunities. Lesson? Never bet Packers when favorites. They play like underdogs.

If you didn't know that was exactly what Rodgers was going to do then you haven't watched him enough. Milk the clock for as long a he possibly can and kick a field goal to win it, knew it was going to happen before it did. They do not give a shit about your spread, they want to win the game and make sure the other team doesn't have a chance. Detroit wanted them to score so they could have a shot to score and tie or win the game. It's actually called good coaching.

People only see things through the eyes of their wager. Amazing how out of touch some people are with reality.

The fact you're dumb enough to believe a team can just easily go 80 yards in 60 seconds...it's' just effing stupid. It's a created reality.

It is obvious the right play was to fall down, that is exactly why the Lions were willing to give up the Td....because even the Lions knew the better chance to win was to allow the TD and get the ball back instead of trying to block a field goal...with how awful the Packers pass D was, giving the Lions the ball back with 1 min left they probably get to atleast the 30-40 yd line with 2-3 shots at the end zone....the better bet was taking a short field goal than making your D make another stop

Who the hell said they could "easily" do it? Your reading comprehension skills are are severely lacking. Is there a better than 0.5% chance they can chuck something downfield that connects or catch a pass interference call? Probably, and that's the point, you can take the virtually guaranteed win or make stupidass decisions that could cost your team the win, the paid professionals will take the chip 1 million times out of 1 million times.
I'm sorry you lost your bet on the over or on GB -3.5.
I'm done feeding the trolls here, someone else can takeover.
