Will the NFL ever stop having games on Thursdays?

If the league is all about the players health and safety, this should stop. Right?

Especially this late in the season. It's just too early to turn around and be game time ready physically. 

I can't count on 2 hands how many players have all ready been hurt between Chicago and Detroit. 

2 more games yet to go...

Would a reasonable solution be Friday/Saturday games? Any extra time would be beneficial. 

I know the league wants it's views and revenue.

There's a replacement for every player that goes down and these players are compensated well for their services.  This is a business to make money, not one to worry about who gets hurt and when...  Next man up.

NFL football on Thanksgiving is a national tradition. Are you serious? It's the only thing that helps makes these family gatherings palatable.

They should give the teams a second bye week and at least find a way to schedule teams with a bye or a Monday night game after playing on Thursday night. 

I know, on Thanksgiving in particular I know they'd never get rid of the 3 games.

What about regular TNF? Is it that important? It usually sucks, and screw the Prime subscription. 

Perhaps the nfl could guarantee the bye week, the week before any team playing on Thanksgiving?

As much as I hate Roger, The NFL is a business and profit is number one. Thursday games make serious money.  If the players don’t like it, they should start their own league or find a new job. You think the corporation I work cares about management working 70 plus hours a week in November and December? Not a chance

I've been a strong supporter of this idea for a long time. When teams were playing 4 pre season games, I said to cut those to 3, and add a bye week for every team.

Instead the greedy ass league added an extra game to the regular season. The home/away games aren't 50/50 since then.

I've found these Thursday games have more volatility... coincidence??

our family splits up' half to the TV room. others somewhere else. It's the only way my family can get thru the Holidays.

back in the day, Thanksgiving was the only time it played on Thurs.

then they decided to add it to the regular schedule, and have tinkered w/it over the years to balance out the schedule.

Yes, there's been some efforts to improve the safety issues w/eqpt and safer kickoffs, etc

THEN, Amazon came in a few yrs ago, gave the NFL 1 BILLION Dollars for a 10 yr contract to televise Thurs night gms.

100 Million/yr.. for 1 game a week.. maybe next year they'll get nflix to do 1 Friday or Saturday gm/week, who knows?

So, will they ever stop having Thurs games..?

Safety won’t be as big of a concern once the NFL becomes flag football in less than 10 years. 

if we didn't have college football, they probably would schedule games on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All about the money the league makes. They act like they care about players safety and well-being. Hell NO and it's the next man up mentality

There's always more players to replace anyone.....a never ending supply. The owners don't care about the players or the product....otherwise there's several things they could do (or could have done sooner)......

The NFL makes so much so much money, I think of them as the matrix with those baby sucking machines. They’ll do anything for the money

Public is not waiting that long with no Thursday game

Games were more sacred when they were played only on Sundays and mondays 

What would happen if they had to wait till Sunday? Would there be a protest?
