Welcome back to another grueling, frustrating, marathon puck season. Hope everyone had a good, healthy summer. Opened up the forum this morning and saw a Lippsman post, brought me back. Agreed with the last poster, I came to this forum 10 years ago, not knowing crap about hockey betting but had a love for the game and Lipps was a person that made you feel welcome. I attempt to return the favor today, but with some of the crap around these forums, it is hard.
So, I heard that Toronto is planning the ticker tape parade already! No, not for the Stanley Cup Championship but for winning a first round this year. (Sorry Rustie, it is not a good opening day without getting a Leaf joke in). Do the Avs repeat? I am saying NO. Do you we have any party crashers to the SC Playoffs or do we get a repeat and wash from last year. Heard over the summer that Sidney, Malkin and Letang all bought burial plots next to each other because they don't want to be apart. Will Fab's Flame. s actually be better this year? Did Florida learn anything last year? Ben, did the Oilers finally find a goalie they can rely on?
2 game tonight and don't expect too many curve balls thrown our way. The early one will have the Vezina winner vs Vezina winner. Youth vs Age. Nightcap gives up the up and coming Kings hosting the Knights.
This is a thread to discuss hockey and share info. All can participate.
What do you want to talk about?
Those Who do not learn from History, are doomed to repeat it

WE ARE BACK!!! Love this thread. Can't wait to see other familiar names pop up.
I had a blast season and learned a lot. Hopefully led a few people to winners as well.
I've been very deep in NFL betting but I'm ready to focus on NHL soon. For now I will follow along until I get a good feel of how each team looks. I do love the idea of the Rangers winning at home tonight. Brings back memories of how they took those first few games at home against the Lightning last year. Fatigue caught up with them but it really felt like they were the better team in that series for a lot of it. Also curious to see how many times the Golden Knights screw me this year haha. Nah, I won't allow that. Not much of a read on the Kings/LVK game yet.

I think Campbell and Skinner is big upgrade over last year. I didn’t really understand not giving Skinner more run last year. Mikko was a tire fire.
IMO guys like Holloway, McLeod, Yamamoto all need to take a step forward. Without injury you know what you will get from Oil top 4 forwards but you see in playoffs every year teams that win or get to semis all have great 3rd line and 4th line is a pain in the ass to play against.

I'll keep (or at least try) my picks in this thread as to not start 8 threads a day. Regular Season: 1-1 -0.10 units I'll drink the Covers Koolaid of the day and cross my fingers. Always a risk betting against the Bolts, but I am putting my money with Igor. Rangers ML -115 Rangers tt over 2.5 -125 (yep, got this one early)
Nice odds on Rags TT BTW... Could not find it anywhere under -150ish...

Doc, classy as always !!! (even when doling out the little jabs that make this particular forum unique lol) keeps us grounded and for the most part drama free, unlike what I have witnessed in other threads. For that I thankyou. I will however still attempt to kick your azz in CHCL.
Leafs will make it out of the first round, and if they do I feel they could build enough confidence from that alone to go one or more rounds (Leafs fans , ever the optimists eh?)
Best of luck to everyone this season

You have think Avs vs field but I’m going with Canadian team to win cup this year. And yes so glad nhl is back to wagering. I’ll still do nfl but going forward stick to nhl/NFL/nba. Limit wagers in each to 1-3 plays. Tonight it’s rangers/knights

Few things I’ll be looking for early in the season..
I’ll be on Carolina early and often. Love this team this year. If Freddie can stay healthy and play well, I see the hurricanes winning the presidents trophy.
Ottawa senators OVERS.. young and exciting team, especially with the off season moves but not a fan of their defence or goaltending. Probably going to be on their overs a lot early in the year.
Flames.. open up the season playing 9 out of 10 at home. Markstrom will be in top 3 for vezina this year imo
3rd period overs.. this has been very profitable for me past few years especially at the beginning of the season before they start dropping the odds. I like to parlay two 3rd period over 1.5 which gives me even odds usually. I look for teams that can put the puck in the net but also play sloppy defence and have bad goaltending.
good luck to everyone this year ! ??

Hey Doc...Just want to say up front that as soon as I opened your thread and started reading, a smile came over my face...not kidding. And it was before you broke Rustie's chops lol. It was just you talking about Lipps and playing it forward and all the good stuff that entails.
So thanks in advance for a great season of PuckTalk, and all the good vibes within.
Cheers

Happy to be back to another amazing season. Hope everyone had a great summer. Another season without Lipps. RIP.
Doc, I think you've been on here way longer than I have. I started here about 10-11 years ago so you gotta be longer than me. Time flies...wish I was young again lol
Onto tonight's games, I'm leaning towards the over for knights/kings game. Also leaning Rangers
Bet the right way and never chase!

Finally!! I'm tired of the garbage that's on Sunday's.
Now a REAL MAN'S game can be played.
Tonight I'm leaning on NYR ML, maybe see if I can get them in REG.
Prolly not doing anything with the LA/VGK game. No clue what we'll get from Vegas with line changes & everyone 'healthy'. LA is potentially a force to be reckoned with. Being here in Vegas I'm partial to VGK. I've seen things said about the goalie situation here. I don't have any worries about it. My worries were when they traded away Flower for nothing & we were stuck with Walrus. His history of injury & inconsistent play reared it's head once again. Logan was superb with the Silver Knights in the AHL & did an excellent job last year when he started for VGK. I firmly believe he'll step up & take the #1 for his own. I recall a backup QB being thrust into a game because the starter was injured on a play. He got his shot & took full advantage of it. I believe everyone calls him the GOAT now & he has 6 rings.
Anywho......looking forward to 6 months of icy goodness.

I am going to play 3rd periods a bit more this year. Live Over bets in 3P are also good, esp. with the amount of EN's we saw last couple seasons with coaches pulling goalies with 3-4-5 minutes left at times. GL.

Juice around -150 but I think this is a no brainer. Playing with a new C in Kopitar who has great vision and is pass first kind of player most nights. Fiala the shooter. Think he will get a boat load of looks tonight.
