Dallas was 2-0-1 vs Oil in the regular season, and 1-1 at home. While 2 of the 3 went over, this is now the playoffs. The Oilers had 12 PP opportunities in those 3 games and only potted ONE goal. Dallas with a 91.67% PK in those 3 games. On the flip side, Dallas had 8 PP's and potted 4 goals. When you look at the last 10 meetings between these 2 teams, it has been close (Oil 5-5 and Stars 5-3-2).
So here are some questions/concerns/comments. For the Oil, they have to find more scoring from the bottom 6. Hell, they need to find more scoring from McJesus as he only had one goal vs Nucks. Is one to think Bouchard can continue with his scoring pace? Hell, look at Dallas's 3rd line: Dadonov, Seguin and Marchment. That could be the Oil's second line. Oil needs help with secondary scoring...Evander, where are you at? Read where Tanev has shut down Eickel and McKinnon for the most part in the first 2 rounds, now his job becomes a little harder. Did see where he is avg. 24 minutes a night in SC playoffs. What will be the status of Hintz?
Sorry, no doubt in net who has the edge. Otter is 8-2 in the playoffs with a 2.09 GAA and .918%. Skinner is 7-3 with 2.87 GAA and .881%. And I would inject that Otter has face a more stern test vs Knights and Avs vs Kings and Nucks.
Anything is possible, it is why you play the game, but Dallas has so much more depth than the Oil. If the Oil are going to advance, McJesus must step up his game and the secondary scoring has to improve. I look at both conference series very similar. Dallas and Florida play similar games while the Ranger and Oil rely on their PP to jump start the team.
Well, fill in the blanks. Thoughts?
I do have Dallas for the series at -130.

So let's have a discussion about the WC Final.

2 points of concern tonight. Dallas lost both Game 1's in the first and second round. Secondly, with everyone (most everyone) screaming Stars, the line has not moved all day.
Things that make you go hmmmm

If you look at series price or price to win the cup it does remind me of C+C Music Factory .
No way? Way

@benhogan76 Yep, have Dallas series bet but I hope it is a good series and honestly, wish your boys the best.
I said it before Playoffs started I think Stars are best overall team but I trust Vegas more than myself. Seems they think it will be close series. Not trying to be hurtful but really just hope it isn’t FLA.

Come on man, I have become a Panther fan the last several years. Just like their style of play.

Thats only reason I said it, you are one of few people on this site that post anything helpful, me included. I just really hate Tkachuk.

Agree. They are 0-6 in their last 6 Game 1s. 4 of the last 5 Game 1 losses were at home. That has to be a talking point but will it change anything. A little surprised opening game line around -130. Right in line with closing in the Stars 2 home regular season games. Thought maybe closer to 140+. Hmmm

GL Doc i came to same conclusion. GL tonight and for the series.
And I agree with ben - Tkachuk is a punk ass box. Acts like a tough guy but never seen him fight anyone. Just mixes it up. It works but I am not a fan of it.

I like the rested Stars to put an end to this Game 1 losing streak. And this year in the playoffs the team that has won the regular season series has won Game 1. 11 - 0 after last night. Good luck!

Stars will be ready to roll tonight, and their depth should guide them to a first game victory at home, and I honestly don't think McDavid is 100%
Bookies have had the lines on Edmonton low since mid January, they are always over priced as a fav, and under priced as a dog.

Game 1 has been full of thrills. We are off to double Overtime, Oilers kill a 4 minute penalty to start the first Ot. Awesome stuff, what fans want to see..
