Curious to see if the Flyers are going to take off like a Hextall wristshot, or crumple like Kent Nilsson after a chop? I guess time will tell.

Let's not forget Niemi gave up almost 3-5 goals/game in postseason minus the Sharks series 


He will miss the Hawks D-men and their great defensive forwards.

Depends on who you believe. Chicago said they were offering him 2.3 million/yr right before arbitration, but that he refused to go below 2.5. Niemi's side says that they were never offered more than 1.5/yr and that the Hawks had already decided they weren't going to bring him back.

You are exactly right his GA will go up as he will be facing more shots a game

What are you looking at??I don't know where you are getting your info  from but the Hawks are the ones right at  25 shots a game the Sharks OVER 31 LOL!!


2010 shots against

Blackhawks 2054 SA = 25 per game
Sharks  .2567 SA = 31.3 per game
Dallas 2551 SA = 31.1 per game

Having to stop 500+ shots more in Niemi's case or in Turco's 500+ less over a season is huge as Niemi will give up more than  a half a goal a game more and Turco more than a half a goal a game less.


Like I said Niemi's GA will be going up and Turcos will be going down!!!

Good info there MJ. Can't wait to see how the Hawks new lines shape up. Out of all the players that will not return, the only one I am pissed about is John Madden. Hope they find someone to replace his role adequately.

Quality vs quanity my point is they mirror each other in other words the Hawks have lost nothing they both have about the same save %.The reason why Niemi looked better than he is is because of the Hawks defense which was the best in the NHL at allowingshots.And the Sharks have went down a notch down with their goaltender as Niemi is not as good as Nabokov.
