Edmonton Oilers….. last nights game was both highly entertaining and promising…. Well earned win that they fully deserved. I dare you to tell me McDavid is not the best player on the planet.
LFG Oilers!!!

Interesting discussion topic actually. I feel like McDavid actually grew to be a better player this year. Figuring out that it doesn't have to be always him. It helps to have the players that are surrounding him. Granted, I do think the discussion of "best" can be narrowed down to 3 players at this time: McDavid, MacKinnon and Matthews. But I am biased and I compare them to perhaps the best player in the last 15 years, Sidney. To be named the "best", you have to include ALL: leadership, offensive skills and...and defensive skills. I look for the best 200 foot player. Hell, Sidney could still be included in this conversation even at his age. But I do feel that McDavid is figuring it out. Just my opinion but interesting conversation.

Unfortunately, he's now in his 9th season & has yet to appear in a Cup final. Not that it's his fault, but that's how players get judged fairly or unfairly. Can't see the Oilers getting there this year either unless their goaltending gets significantly better. Doubtful that happens at this stage of the game.

As a fan of the Edmonton Oilers…… I dare you to tell me Skinner is not a pile of shit.
How many second, third, fourth chances does this guy get??? Bout time he sits on the bench and backups up Pickard imo.

Can’t let 4 goals in on 18 shots. That’s a .733 save percentage that’s atrocious. He is getting badly outplayed by Nucks rookie goalie. In the playoffs you have to be over .900 to win a Stanley Cup. The Nucks have the better goaltending in the series.

That’s very true. When the trade dead line was done I said that Holland would regret not trading for a tender. He could have tried to package Gibson in with those other players from the Ducks. He needed to upgrade in net.

not saying he is…. But Oilers have outshot them 94-61 thus far in the series to be down 2-1?? (To a 3rd string goalie that I don’t even know his name still)
Maybe Pickard offers a spark and he plays well…. What do we have to lose at this point?
At this stage… if Edmonton starts Skinner the next game they deserve to lose.

Nobody should be put in mcdavids league. MacKinnon is great, but for a 200 foot game and score 69 goals Matthews imo is the better all around player then MacKinnon.

There really is no debate who is the best 200 ft player in the NHL is.. He still plays in Pittsburgh. The other 2 might score more goals but they don't come near the full all out effort as 87 puts in still in his late 30s. Debate over.

If you want to be the best, you gotta win cups like Crosby, you gotta win trophies like Crosby, Olympic gold metals and still doing his thing at 36.
Crosby is a complete player and the best
