BUF/NYI over 6 +110Interesting line which I can only assume is a product of how well Robin Lehner has played his last several starts. Really outstanding #s for him. It also doesn't help, from a trend perspective that the under is 9-4 in his last 13 starts. But, that said, these breaks in the schedule can have strange effects on hot streaks and starting off on the road against a high octane offense like the Isles possess is a recipe for disaster here. Mix in the almost league worst defense by NY and you once again have a recipe for the over.
NYI -1 1/2 and ML -175I can see this being a 5-3 or 6-4 type win for the Isles at home. Even the lowly Sabres can put a few into the twine behind swiss cheese Greiss/Halak which helps the over but they won't be able to keep up with the Isles goal for goal here.
NJ -170DET is simply trending in the wrong direction going 3-7-5 now in their last 15 games. They surprised out of the gate and held a 10-8 mark at one point but really middling hockey all around. This is a team that doesn't score very often and doesn't defend very often...so in that sense they're consistant. As we can all see from the standings, the Devils are tops in the Metro with games in hand on everyone--really a nice surprise season thus far for them. They're on a 5-0-1 streak all with Corey Schneider in net and he's between the pipes again tonight. Chalk it up to another Jersey win.
WIN -135Edmonton had built some momentum prior to the break with a 4-game winning streak...but had done so against a group of teams that all have trouble scoring. Now they head into Winnipeg where the high flying Jets are 12-3-1 and own the best offense in the NHL. I see the home team taking the win here. If we see Edmonton win on the road in Winnipeg, it might be time to start really taking them more seriously...but not until then...and for now money says home team.
COL - 1 1/2Colorado just handled the AHL-like Coyotes in Phoenix and now gets to face them back home in Denver where they actually play worthwhile hockey. I see another puck line win against this team that ranks 30th overall in both GF and GA...a demoralizing set of stats. Zona has just a meager two wins in its last 13 games, one of those in regulation. Ouch. Long night in The Pepsi Center coming up.
As of last night: Lot of chalk. Let's see how it ends up. I was on CLB initially for what would have been my only dog line at +130...but just too many injuries right now for them. Same for the Ducks as slight -120 home favorites as Vegas is a diff team away from the desert but with the Ducks still without Kesler and Perry...just eh, not sure. BOS -200 was too rich for my blood despite the fact I'm very confidant that they win and I was hoping for a bit more juice for Nashville but only +100. Same can be said with the Caps at only -110. Had they been a bigger dog as I expected on the road in NY and coming off that terrible loss in Phoeniz and drubbing in Vegas, I would have considered them as well. Anyway, here we are.
Good luck everyone! Hope you had a Happy Holidays!

NYI PL +165 25 shots on goal combined through 1 and a scoreless first!? Doh!
COL PL + 175
Just realized I never actually posted the lines I had with those.

I just saw this post. Hope it goes well N.Y.. any college bowl picks today?
I had Southern Miss, Iowa and Purdue. Sorry, didn't see the message until now...plus this is an NHL thread. I only posted that Fresno State pick on Sunday b/c NHL was on break and I really liked Fresno that night. Not something I'm looking to do on a consistant basis here.

TB – 240Huge line which I hate but I let myself get scared off BOS yesterday which cost me a win. Risk is part of gambling and we can’t have huge favorites with 50/50 odds otherwise what’s to keep everyone from taking them, right? Tampa has the most points in the league, come in on a 9-1 run, best home record in the NHL. Looking at the top PP vs. the 28 ranked PK. I expect Tampa to win here and I’ll be on the PL as well which is only +113
TB – 1 ½ +113 *half unit*
BOS +105Both teams coming in playing the second of a back-to-back, but BOS is definitely the hotter team right now having won 5 in a row and are 14-3-1 in their last 18. Caps on the other hand suddenly can’t score; lost in OT to ARZ, shut out in Vegas then shut out through OT and the shootout in NY. Two teams trending in opposite directions at the moment and BOS has extra motivation to beat WASH as they’ve lost twice this year earlier this season to The Caps. Capitals haven’t scored a goal of any kind in over 145 minutes of ice time and it will be tough sledding against a BOS team that is fifth in the NHL in goals allowed.
TOR -200Another big line a long way from home. Arizona is 0-5-1 in the second game of a B2B which is where it finds itself tonight. They’ll come down from their high of going on the road for a rare road revenge win against COL. This young Leafs team can score, ranking fifth in the league in goals for. Matthews is playing tonight which makes them even more dangerous. Without him the offense gets bogged down as evidenced by their 2-4 run without him earlier this month—and throw out that one strange Car game and you’re looking at 1-4 with only six goals scored. Scott Wedgewood is projected, not confirmed to start, but really…who cares here.
TOR -1 ½ +150 *half unit*
LAK -147Kings felt the “vegas flu” earlier this season on the road but now have home ice here to exact revenge. Well documented how good the Golden Knights are at home and now they even have a winning road record at 9-7 but still have to side with the home team here
That’s all for me. Good luck everyone!

Bartender, you always share your winning picks. Allow me to share mine. I' m good picking like you are, but we'll see how I do.
Your Rangers, canes (They usually give pitt problems,) and the under in Dallas. If it goes over, it's because the Blues will score and I don' see that happening. Best of luck to us.
